| Need some help please I need some advice please. I have had my little yorkie not hardly 2 months yet, an I've treated him with frontline plus and it didn't last him 2 weeks before he was getting fleas like crazy again I don't want to keep putting chemicals on him if it's not going to last more then 2 weeks, does anyone have any advice on what I can use to keep my poor little guy from having the fleas. I have other dogs (chihuahuas) and frontline plus has always lasted them typically between 6 - 7 weeks before they need anymore i can't understand why it's not working on Topher. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much |

| You're probably already aware of this, but I believe some of them say you shouldn't give them a bath 48 hours before and after you apply it - in case you might have given him a bath... I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that will know for sure and can help you out.

| Thank you so much for your fast reply, I knew about the 48 hrs after but did not know about the before and I am betting that was the problem I gave him a bath and then applied the frontline right after, I am guessing that is what has caused it to not be affective near as long. I don't bathe my chihuahuas before I put it on them which would explain why it works so good on them. Thanks so much for your help, I just bathed Topher today so I won't put anything on him for at least 48hrs and hopefully this time his frontline will last a lot better for him. Thanks again for your help. |

| Are you parting the hair completely and putting it directly on the skin?

| do you possibly have a flea problem in your home where they could be just so many that the frontline may not be effective? I would start with that and possibly look at treat the home if there is an issue and then I would look at also treat around the outside of the home. Good luck.

| Thanks everyone, we've treated the home and we have treated the yard also the other dogs don't have a problem at all, i really think it was bathing him and putting the medicine right on him, I wasn't aware I needed to wait the 48 hrs after his bath before I put his flea medicine on him, so I bathed him yesterday so I will be waiting before I put anymore frontline on him and see if it works better for him this time. It works great on the other dogs. Thanks again everyone for all the help. |

| More Questions This time before I put frontline on my puppy I made sure that I bathed him and waited 4 days before I put the frontline on him last Tuesday and I am already finding fleas again, can anyone give me any advice on why this wouldn't be working on him? My other dogs are okay and aren't getting them on them. Should I switch him perhaps to advantix or something because it just really seems like the frontline doesn't work on him at all. I'm really starting to get frustrated spending the money out on the frontline and it barely lasting a week or two before he has fleas again. It's like it never completely kills them off of him and they come right back I can't figure out what's going wrong, since this time I know it wasn't caused due to not waiting long enough after bathing him. I'm at a loss of what to do. Thanks for any advice, I just hate that fleas are bugging my little guy. |

Frontline has never worked for me but my problem was more ticks than fleas. I have used Advantix and had good luck with it so far. I haven't seen one flea all season. It is weird it works on the other dogs. You might mention this to the vet to see if he/she has heard of this before. My vet don't sell Frontline any more due to the high complaints.

| I wouldn't give them a bath 48 hours before applying and then afterwards. I'm like you, don't like applying the chemicals, I use the comfortis pill. It takes care of only fleas. |

| try advantage, I wont use anything else. Also to calm the itchy skin a bit after bathing dog, do final rinse with apple cider vineger mixed with water. Sometimes I do half and half. Makes their coats shiney also. smell of vineger goes away. Just a thought. I do this everytime I bath and condition. Someone may know a better solution. |

| Fleas I agree on the Advantage, I tried tried Frontline also and it does not work for me either, I used frontline in June and my babies still had fleas, so I went back to Advantage and I see no fleas I look for them every day, because I feel I'm a bad parent if I see any |

| My daughter had this problem with her dogs. It turned out that they had cats that were bringing fleas into the house. The cats had been treated but not with either of the leading brands of flea defense. The fleas had laid eggs in the home and was infested. They had to purchase a flea fogger from the vet's office and remove all animals from the home and treat it. Of course they had to treat all the animals with both Capstar and Advantage. They had no more problems after this. There is also a totally natural product called Diatomaceous Earth that can be used on the pet or given internally or it can be used in the home to kill fleas. It is an interesting product. There is a website called Revival . com that sells it and the other products and has information on all of them. |

| Frontline has never worked for us we use ad advantix. It's for flees and ticks, since we live in such a humid area we have lots of years when it's absolutely horrible. We tried everything and sometimes have to switch to the pill comfortis depending on how bad the problem is.

| I'm new to the puppy world, but our vet gave Macie-Belle Revolution. It is a flea, tick and heartworm med and you apply it like frontline, on the skin. It's working for us so far. |
