| These are all such cute stories I feel like I need to pay you all back by posting mine. Hefner~ Most people laugh or giggle when I tell them his name which I consider a good thing...anything to make people laugh and feel godd..right? Hefner's breeder called him Lil Soldier because he marches around like he owns the room!! I almost called him Soldier but we kept trying to come up with a list of macho names since he was so small but soooo macho and charming too. My daughter said how about Hugh Hefner and call him Hughie? We named him Teal's Macho Playboy as his registered name and we call him Hefner. It's different! Chai~ My daughter chose this name from a huge list that we had compiled for several weeks before we got her. My daughter is a vegan, very natural, and into organic things plus she loves tea. Chai is the color of Chai Tea and our last name is Teal so Chai Teal is sort of cute. Her formal name is Champagne's One in a Million because of her unusual color, her mother's name was Champagne Lifestyles and her father who was Maximillion! I had never heard the name for a dog before and then there were only four dogs in the puppy kindergarten class and one was an apricot poodle named CHAI!! Most people react positively to the name. Buddha~ Buddha is my oldest daughter's dog and she chose this name because he is very wise, like an old man and always seemed older even as a young puppy. While he is playful and has energy, he is also mellow and seems to know when to behave and when to goof off. His formal name is Zen Warrior Buddha. Ava~ Ava is our baby and her formal is Southern Belle's Diva Doll Baby of Avalon....Her mother's name was Southern Belle and she has a babydollface. We love to vacation as a family at Avalon on Catalina Island so we thought about Catalina, but then Avalon fit because we all loved Ava as a call name. Most people like the name but think it is for Ava Gabor or Ava Gardner because that is how we pronounce it and because she is usually dressed like the diva she is!!! | I don't really know how Chattie became Chattie..... she was supposed to be Wicket but when she was very young she would make all sorts of chattering noises, hence the name Chattie. Peppy was already named when he came to live with me, but his name suits him well..... LOL he is a Peppy Tag-A-Long. Chizziewink is after a children's book The Chizzywink and the Alamagoozulum, which was a nonimee for the Georgia Childrens Book Award two years ago. For those of you who aren't from Florida, a chizzywink is a mosquito. And somehow the name Chizzie just fit the little ankle biter. |

| Edith Jones Somehow, I think it is really funny to give animals serious people names. So I picked Edith. Since my last name is Jones, she is Edith Jones. She has become somewhat of a celebrity (TV, newspaper, radio), since my jazz band is named after her...The Edith Jones Project. Everyone also wants to know who Edith Jones is, and they laugh like crazy when I pull out her picture onstage. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | When I went to pick up Gracie, I thought of the name along the way. I had to go up to Houston to get her so I had a couple of hours. Rebel, I did a poll here and since he was such a turkey, Rebel stuck!

| I had origanially started making list upon list of names that I thought would be cute and ran them by my boyfriend, since he's picky and we didn't have the puppy yet he didn't like any of the names that I had down. So when we got Tigger we just watched him to get to know a little of his personality. He went nameless for a couple of days and I was thinking either Romeo or Prince because he's such a sweetie and cuddle bunny. But my boyfriend was thinking Rusty. I didn't care for it too much and then my boyfriend pointed out one day that he hops around everywhere and he thought that Tigger from Winnie the Pooh would be the most appropriate. Needless to say... It stuck. The only thing that people have really said about it is "That's a nice name." or something along those lines. |

| Mine have "people" names. Gracie's name is Lindy Grace, named after my sister Linda who passed away 1 1/2 years ago, and my grandmother Grace. If I'd ever had a daughter I would have used Grace as her middle name, but since I didn't I gave it to my furry daughter instead! Griffin's name is Griffin Tucker, and I just picked Griffin because it went so well with Gracie. (Griffie & Gracie, Griff & Grace, etc.) Tucker is his middle name because when I was married, my husband and I wanted to get a male black lab and name him Tucker. Turns out, a year and a half into the marriage my husband had an affair and we just got divorced back in September, 8 days after our 2nd wedding anniversary! So I basically used Tucker as Griffin's middle name because I like it for a boy, and now if he ever gets his lab named Tucker he will know that I had Griffin using that name first!

| My husband kept saying "You don't need a little dog it will be a Pain In The Ass" but I wore him down and when we got our baby there was no choice but to name her PITA! LOL My husband's name is Pete so it's a little play on that too. Her registered name is Pita Pocket tho. I thought maybe the real version wouldn't be acceptable |

| I've always liked the name Kelsey. I went to Walmart one day and they had a yorkie stuffed animal and it's name on the card was "kelsey". Since then whenever I saw a yorkie I'd call it a "kelsey dog" and when I got my Kelsey, it was only appropriate to call her Kelsey And boy does she know her name her head turns so fast when I call her..cute!
