What would you do!? 1 Attachment(s) Ok, my heart is torn on what to do! I need your help!!! My friend goes to the gas station today and sends me a text message about a yorkie for sale. There is a note on the gas station window. She gets me the phone number so of course I call it. The lady works at the gas station. The dog is a female, one year old, NOT FIXED, weighs 4 lb. Has been around other dogs and does fine. She is asking $150 for her. I asked why she is getting rid of her and she said she worked a lot and could not give her the attention she needs. I told her I owned a very spoiled Yorkie. She asked me a few questions and said she wants her to go to a good home. To make a long story short, she will sell her to me for $50. I have been wanting another one. I am so scared this girl will get in the wrong hands. What to do?! Give me some advice!! Here is a picture she sent me. Tell me too that she looks full blood yorkie. Just making sure. Lol. Any advice??????? Attachment 348239 |
Do you really need to ask this on this forum???? Yes, get her!!! LOL! :D |
She's adorable - definitely full yorkie. :) Could you at least go meet her and see how your baby gets along with her? |
She looks like a full yorkie to me. I think at $50 she is more or less giving her away and if you think you can give her a good home you should go for it. Looking at how beautiful and happy your babies look I know you could give this little one an amazing life. |
OMG! I can't believe this!! My heart is racing! $50!!!!!! This baby will get in the wrong hands. I want her so bad. My main worry is Rosie. This can be done with two females right!? I am sure she would let Rosie meet the puppy first. I just know at $50 she will go fast! I begged her not to sell her until I get hold of my DH. He is at work and I have to wait until he can call me. My heart is saying go get her! |
I would go see her and get her. You know for $50 and not spayed she is going to end up as a poor breeder for a greeder or puppymill. She also looks all yorkie to me. Follow your heart Rhonda:) |
Silly question. Sounds like your her lucky new home. Or at least rescue her from someone else and then make your decision. Keep us updated |

Pray my DH says yes guys!! He is a good loving man. He loves Rosie dearly. But a little pray never hurts! LOL |
OMG get her! She just needs a bath and a loving furever home. Go with your instincts. Imagine someone buying her for that price and using her at a puppy mill. :thumbdown |

Yes, I think so too. If Rosie can't get along with her at least I can get her fixed and make sure that she gets into the RIGHT hands. But I am hoping Rosie will be just fine. |
Looks like a yorkie to me who just needs someone to take better care of her - I think Rosie's mom can take very good care of a little one!;) I also would be concerned she would fall into the wrong hands. Can you tell her you will in all probability take her, just need to talk to DH as formality? |

Could be 5 minutes could be 3 hours. Depends on how busy he is. I am on major pins and needles!!!!!!!!! |
Go get that baby! It'll take some effort on your part but I'm sure you can get your two young ladies to get along. If you have the space and an expen, you can keep them separate until this pup is spayed and they would only be allowed to interact while being supervised, and for pack walks of course. (helps with bonding) I'm sure with time and patience you can get this to work. |

I told her I wanted the baby. But I had to get DH to agree first. She promised me not to sell her until I talked to DH. She wants her to go to a good home and promised I would have the first opportunity. |
I hope it works out.:xfingers: I'll say a prayer for you.:hands: As others have said, I know you'd give her a great home & tons of love & attention, she'd be living large like she deserves.:) |

I would get her spayed immediately. I think that is a must. Then a visit to the groomers too. Lol. |
If you do get her I would make sure she is up to date with shots and all Call your vet and make a appt to make sure all is well. You do not want your little one getting fleas or something worse. I believe this happened for a reason and you will be a great new home for her. I am so excited for you :D:D:) |
I just can't remember with Rosie. She is 1 yr old and 4 lb. Is that going to be about the weight she stays? Rosie is 5 1/2 lb. I want one close to her size. |

I will for sure! My vet knows us well!! :D:D Groomed, heart worm pills, flea/tick meds if needed, spayed, shots.........I am so excited what am I missing! |
Princess put on about a pound or so after a year. I'd think the girl is pretty close to full grown, if not already. And her & Rosie would be similar sizes, another sign...:);). |
Yes my babies all stayed pretty much their weight at a year. She prob will stay small. |
I have to go to work will check back when I am done. So happy for you. Good luck |
I have to tell you what my friend said. She is on YT so she will see this. Lol. I text her and told her about the dog. Her first comment is Go get her. She needs you. lol. I said DH is going to kill me. She said, yes but not grave yard dead. Ha ha. :D At least it was funny in this heart racing situation for me!!! |
The little girl will probably get no bigger, though she may "fill out" and bulk up a bit, meaning she will put on a little more weight. Two females are fine, as the new girl is still very young. Right now I have a four female pack of estrogen ;), and everyone does fine. Please buy her, and bring her home. Take her to the vets, make sure she is healthy, has shots, spay, heartworm test, flea and tick protection. You will know quickly if she will fit into your family or not. Worst case scenario, you may need to rehome her or give her to a Yorkie rescue group for them to place. I think it was destiny that you found out about her, and even if by some chance she is not your "forever" girl, then you can still give her a safe, loving home, where she will be cared for and cherished. In the end, that's what we all want for her. My guess is that once she gets into your home and your heart, she won't go anywhere. Congrats on your new fur baby! |
My husband would want to strangle me,because if here, that baby would probably already be in my house. Be sure to get ALL vet info, food and anything else you need from the previous owner. Your baby may be thrilled to have a sister,my boys love Mina and even the female pom has decide that she is ok. Keep us posted. |
I am on pins and needles waiting to see that you have heard from your DH!!!! Oh my the anticipation:p |
