HEY HUN!! im soooo happy for you!!!! she is absolutely adorable!!!!!!!!!!! make sure you post tons of pictures of her!! your such a good mommy to rosie so this little girl is definitely in great hands!!! yay!!!

I would let them work it out, unless they start to fight. But, a growl and snarl here or there will let them figure it out. The only issue I had and still have is feeding time. Levi is a big piggy, so I have to make sure I feed them separately and allow Lily to "nibble" even if it takes her an hour to eat. I just keep picking up her bowl so that Levi won't eat hers. Levi is 11 lbs, Lily is 5 lbs...I just feed them at opposite ends of the room.
I also praised Levi when he was good to Lily. Like if he sniffed her without scaring her I told him good boy. They will work it out.
It was nice of you to call the lady, I am sure she is happy that you did.

She is a doll. I know they will work it out. I have 3 females and they love each other. I got Pixie at 13 months and she was a little scared at first but within 24 hours it was like she was always here.

Now when DH comes homes or calls, don't say a word! Wait till he sees her and then tell him she's been with you for a week already! They just multiply lke that! Haha!

I would set up a bed for her in a quiet out of the way area but where she can still see you. Put her in the bed with a treat, then walk away. Give Rosie a treat too. If Rosie continues barking, I'd take both for a walk together. That can help them to bond. If you have to separate them, put Micky somewhere. She's not used to being spoiled yet so it won't bother her as much as it would Rosie.

Do everything for Rosie first, this shows her you still love her. Again, Micky doesn't know any better so it shouldn't bother her.

I thought she looked scared with her original owner, in the first pic you posted. She may not have bonded, or know how to.... give her time.

I have 4, one 14 YO neutered male, and 3 females (one's a Biewer) 1 spayed and 2 not. They all get along pretty well. I do jump in the middle when things start, bc I don't want any one of them to start thinking they're the boss. I am the boss, lol. I have to keep reminding them of that fact!

I've had to separate them (usually only 2 at any one time) a few times for fighting. I have learned I can do it quickly and safely by just grabbing hair at the shoulder or hips and sliding them apart. When I pick one up, the other will lunge through the air to try to get the last bite, so I stopped doing it that way. In 2 years, they've had maybe 4-5 fights in all. Sapphire never fights, she'll run away or hide behind something or me!

kjc, your very first post made me smile. I was debating this so much. Everyone was so supportive. It was like Micki was meant to be mine. She wants attention bad. Is that a sign of not getting it?

Possible, but more than that she may just be nervous and scared. Peek a Boo sat in my lap for 3 days before he would let me put him on the floor. That was 8 years ago!

All that baby needs is a good bath and conditioner, let her hair grow some and she is a doll. I would take her asap to the vet and have her checked out and spayed. I think introducing them a little at a time and giving your other baby lots of attention too will really help. Mine get into it sometimes but a yorkie fight is not that hard to break up. Thank goodness they are little. lol!!!!! I just yell stop it right now and that usually startles them enough they stop. Congradulations, I am soooo happy for you. They will be fine. Just give it plenty of time and they will be close in no time. I am just so happy for that baby too. She will have a gooooood home and not end up no tellin' where.

Are you kidding me??? Mine are like velcro with gnarling, gnashing teeth! I tell ya, if Pit Bull owners ever saw mine fight, they'd switch breeds and start fighting Yorkies! Lol! The hardest part of separating them is finding the ends that contain the teeth and then grabbing the opposite ends!:D

If it were me, I would tell my dh, look what I found at the gas station. She has been there awhile and no body else wanted her. Is that not fate or what????? He will fall in love with her. Who could keep from it. Hold her up to his face and say "Look at that little face, who could not want her?" Bet she sleeps with you tonite. lol!!!!

I'm so glad to hear you brought her home. They look like sisters already in the pictures. So cute! I can't wait to hear what DH says. Going for a walk together is a good idea to help them bond as a pack. Also giving her a safe place to call her own like a crate or other den will help her feel more comfortable.

Wow!! I saw this thread at 10am and was taken away from the computer before I had a chance to reply. Now I logged in and just saw the thread is 8 pages and I got excited! I just knew you went to get her. Congrats on your new baby. She's adorable and the pictures of them together are so sweet.

If I were you, I'd make sure that Rosie knows that she is the Alpha dog. She needs to be reassured that she is your #1 and you need to treat her like an angel and give her tons of attention. Make sure Micki has a special, safe place to go.

DH and I checking in to see how you made out. Glad to hear he said she could stay! My DH said he could not resist her (but then told me we are not ready yet for another if I'm getting any ideas)! :D

I have been giving Rosie lots of extra attention and she even got chicken for dinner. :) Micki has already learned that my office is the safe haven. Lol. She is a precious little girl. Rosie acts a little down. I am going to take her for a ride by herself tomorrow.
