Well we survived the first night! :) I now sleep with two yorkies in my bed. One at my chest and one at my knees. lol. Micki did great. She finally ate this morning. She only wants me right now. DH hopes she warms up to him. I hope so too. She is the sweetest thing ever.

My dad, a big manly construction worker, fell in love with her. He wants her! :) It was so sweet watching him with her. Now my parents want a yorkie! :D

Rosie has calmed down a lot. We are still having moments. Rosie wants her to know that she is the boss. I am still hopeful they can work it out!

I am naming her Micki Leigh. It is easier to say. Lol. I think we have decided to keep it Micki because she is used to it.

I will keep you all updated!!!

I think you should spell it Mikki though....just to be different lol. I can't wait to see her and Rosie in pictures together!

Happy to hear you had a good night. I am sure Micki Leigh will realize Rosie is the boss. Now you need to find your dad a Yorkie, do we need to start looking on YT?

Another rescue???? I saw a cute little guy on yorkie haven that I would love to have.....but sadly not right now.

I must say... this was almost as much fun as getting my own! Very exciting day.... and I was rooting for you all along! When things happen easily, they are meant to be. When things happen at all, they are meant to be.

Don't underestimate walking them together. It's amazing how all mine become so much like a pack.... protecting each other and all! When we return home, they come in the house with a different attitude that lasts quite a while. And they so enjoy getting out and about in the neighborhood! Also helps to establish you as their leader. I never thought going for walks could do so much!

Well, good luck and I'll be looking forward to many more pics and videos!

It was excitement for sure. You should have seen me! Lol. I was so nervous. Afraid I was making a mistake. My son kept saying, "We are not taking that dog." Lol. Guess he was wrong! Your first post said it all! You said Go get her! I am glad I did. And glad DH liked her. Mom called me today to let me know if it didn't work out dad and her wanted Micki. I couldn't believe it.

So happy to hear your first night went great!! Mikki Leigh is perfect! Rosie sounds like she is adjusting well since she let Mikki sleep in the bed last night. I'm so happy for all of you.

Ok, I just had to add this to the thread for those of you who have followed along with the Mikki story. DH wakes up this morning to Mikki on his chest. Right before he leaves for work, he comes up to me and says "I am really glad you got Mikki!" :eek: Coming from my DH that is HUGE! Looks like Mikki for sure has found her furever home! :D She has become a huge part of our family already. And yes, her and Rosie actually play now! We have chase every morning about 6:30. Lol. I love the clicking of yorkie nails on my wood floor. :p

AWWW that is so very sweet. I'm glad that Mikki and Rosie are doing so good together.

I knew you were already smitten with your new little girl - glad DH and Rosie have joined in on the Mikki lovin' too! She is so lucky to be in her new forever home! :)

I am so glad to hear everything is working out for all of you. I bet you were really surprised to hear your DH say that! That's wonderful! Sounds like Mikki might become a daddy's girl???

Thank you so much. I am so glad I had my YT friends to turn to during this decision. I really don't know what I would have done without all of the support and encouragement. I know now that I really did do the right thing. We love Mikki dearly and feel that she will now have a home that she deserves. Thanks again every one. You all are the best!

This is the first time I read this story and it made me feel so good knowing what a beautiful addition Mikki made to the family that I wanted to share it with other newbies. I hope no one minds me bringing it back up. Perhaps this will be an inspiration to some of those out there looking for a new yorkie or to breed their's just to get a puppy.
