I certainly understand being nervous. I always feel guilty when I have to leave a pet at the vet's. Your baby is going to be fine and you will be so glad you did this once it is over.

At what age do they normally go into heat?

It can happen at 6 months but some may not go into heat until they are a year. Usually happens about every 6 months.

Updates!!! Must have updates! How is baby Poppy doing after the surgery. Hope all went well and you are both doing okay.

Poppy dosn't get spayed until tomorrow morning at 8:30am, starting to get a bit nervous now and will probably be a wreck in the morning. Giving her lots of cuddles tonight and will update as soon as it's over!

Good luck today (it is tomorrow your time already). I know everything will go fine. Hang in there.

Poppy will want lots of cuddles when she comes home. When I had my Poppy fixed, we laid on the floor together for three days and two nights (yes, I made a pallet out of blankets for us). I rented several movies and vegged out with her on the floor.

The pain meds the vet gave me had a mild sedative and helped to keep her from jumping around too much (this was nine years ago so not sure if they still do this).

In a few months watch out for my posts when I take my babies in. I will need you to remind me how smooth Poppy's surgery went

Thank you, yes today is the day and I will be leaving for the vet's in about 10 minutes

. Poppy got all excited when I put my shoes on, bless her she must have thought she was going walkies

. She is also STARVING and has been sitting at her food bowl crying all morning and last night. My tummy is doing flips im that nervous and I think Poppy is picking up on it because she is fussing around me, will update when it's over. Thanks for the support everyone.

You poor thing you haven't slept a bit. Just remember this will be over soon. The hardest part for me is leaving my little furry baby at the vets office. It won't be long though before she is sound asleep. She will stay sedated for most of the time she is away from you. Probably you will need the sedation as much as she! I wanted to get a closer look at the pretty dress she has on in your photo so I took a look at the pictures you have posted of her. She is adorable and it is very evident how very much she is loved and taken care of by you.
I'm sure many of us will be waiting to hear how your doing. Best wishes to both of you and I'm praying for you both as well.

Thank you so much, it is 10:47 now and they said they should ring me before 12:00 if not I have to ring them at 12:00, I can't wait to get her home. I have been out to buy her a new bed so she is all comfy for her few days of rest. Just waiting for them to call now, the time is dragging!
