Could she be telling you she wants to go out? She is old enough now to be able to get through the night without peeing. She may be waking up because she needs to go out. I guess it is hard to get up that early but she is a puppy and needs to be taught to go outside to pee. If she can't get outside it is nice that she is waking you to let you know.

My Henry escaped out of his crate too. I came home from work and he was sitting by the front door! I know for a fact that I latched both latches. We started calling him "Henry Houdini".

Yes, I was!! Thank you for asking. We have a large clip that I used to hold the gate to the side of the kennel...works like a charm. She does not mess with the clip at all, I did hear her trying the unhook the latch the 1st morning I used but I guess figured out that mommy outsmarted her this time Here is a photo of the clip if anyone else has a sneaky pup
