| I think it's working! I've put the Zymox in Chelsea's ears the last two nights and this morning the smell is barely there. I'm not sure I'm going to keep using it as her regular cleanser after the initial treatment period is over though. It leaves an oily residue and makes her hair look dirty. Hopefully, it will work and get rid of the odor permanently and I can use the same cleanser I use on the others. Thanks so much for all the help!

| Sounds like the actual Zymox med and not the cleaner. That shoudn't be used long term as far as I know. E's vet does 10-14 days for her with it. I like it quite a bit. It's probably clearing some yeast that was causing the smell. Not a bad idea although it may come back. As long as the vet thinks everything looks good in there, you may go in circles with this... Hard to get rid of it permamently.

). I just googled it again after you posted this. I don't know what I thought I read before, or if I just dreamed it, but I won't use it longer than the recommended 14 days. Thanks for clarifying that for me!

| Also, I'm sure there are people reading this that now think they can get out of going to the vet for ear issues because this is OTC. Remember, Bonny had the vet look in there first. Putting these types of things in the ear without letting a vet check to make sure the ear drum isn't ruptured is an extremely bad idea. If an ear is itchy, smelly, irritated, or painful, the vet needs to look.
