| I mainly keep mine indoors. But I go out on the balcony I let them go with me. They do not run down the stairs , ever. So i trust them to come out with me. I think that it is important for any dog to at least get some fresh air and light everyday, despite being indoors most of the time. My 2 are fine. I do see that Suzi likes to lay in the sun . It is extremely hot here in the summertime. I can't take them out then. But, I try during the earlier hours and later at night . Suzi and Miely do tire themselves out even when indoors. But, I try to allow them outside time with me each day even if it is only out on the balcony.

| Princess went out several times a day to potty until sub-zero wind chills this winter when she'd walk on 3 legs or just sit & shiver after about one minute. So then I decided to try pad training. She's in the house to potty but I try to take her out several times a week even if it's just to take the garbage out or get mail so she can sniff around for a few minutes. She can also go on the balcony rain, snow or shine if she wants. This summer we'll be at my parent's with a fenced in yard a lot, as well as more consistent walking (I hope!). She loves it outside & there's no way I could keep her in, but to each their own, we're not all the same just as our yorkies aren't!

| Tibbe is an inside dog, of course, but he goes out for pottying, playing and training, also goes out for car trips, etc. He's never out without me right nearby though.

| Miss Lizzie and Mr. Darcy are indoors most of the time, or out on the deck. They will go potty out there. Mr. Darcy only goes outside, but Miss Lizzie goes on pp pads - although sometimes she will go on one of my throw mats, so now I have been putting pp pads on them and that works. I walk them now (I also live in rural Canada and snow/salt and crappy Spring weather this year stopped me until now!). I was surprised at how quickly they both learned the word "walk" - I just say "do you want to go for a walk?" and they both get sooooo excited - my only concern is - I worry about other dogs being out. There is one lab, 2 doors down, who is tied up on a heavyish rope, on their front, that runs at us - barking, barking and gets yanked back by his rope EVERY time we walk by and I always worry that his rope will come loose. If I get their harnesses out, not saying the word walk they also get excited - until I get out in the driveway and stop at the car - then total disappointment!!!

| Foxy is strictly an indoor dog, but with that being said, she goes out to potty, play and go for walks. But this means she is never left outside unattended ever!

| Mine are inside dogs, however....they go outside with me to play, go to "town" with me, go to the lake with us.....but, yes, they "live" inside!

| Like most, Magnus & Zoey is indoor but goes outside for walks and such. Also, I take Magnus on leash when we're at the vet/pet store. But, I clean them with the wipes from head to tail and spray the conditioner on them when we get home no matter where we've been. |

| Mine too are indoor dogs. They potty indoor also - on peepads. The only time they go outside is when I hold them - also. They go on trips with me everywhere but are not allowed out on their own.

| Ellie is an inside dog (she spends most of her time inside and NEVER EVER sleeps outside unless she is camping with the family or whatever). She is not allowed outside unsupervised. I can't imagine having strictly an indoor dog. Perhaps in the rare case that a pup is extremely immunocompromised, etc. and can't go out, that would be fine. Dogs are almost entirely wolves. They need to go out. It isn't necessary for their physical health as long as they can be exercised inside, but IMO it is important for their psychological well being. My girl is allowed to be outside, walk in the grass, etc. She is not allowed to go near dead animals or eat bugs.

| Teddy spends most of his day indoors, but he walks my boys to the bus stop every morning with me and helps let the chickens out. When it's not raining (which it seems to be most every day in southeastern PA) he goes outside to garden with me. He uses pp inside, but will do his business outside if that's where we are and he needs to go.

| At the office, Leroy has a doggy door that allows him to pass from inside the office to outside into a secure, covered 5' x10' fenced area with pea gravel for his potty area, and also up a few steps onto our enclosed deck. Inside he has the run of the place and is most often found snuggled up alongside my leg in my office or perched on the back of the love seat snoozing or watching the world go by. At our house in the country, he has the run of the house, and for his potty needs, he goes down a couple of stairs to my craft room where my husband installed a doggy door that connects his inside potty area (an exercise pen set on vinyl flooring for those cold, wet winter months) --- to an outside potty area (a fully enclosed 4' x 4' covered, screened and wire fenced area with pea gravel). We have lots of hawks, eagles, and other critters, including bear and skunks, so we can block the doggy door and keep him safely inside. Yes, he is spoiled. And he is never alone outside his secured areas without me. Even while traveling on our motorcycles, he goes with me (tethered) everywhere. (He is a Therapy Dog.) Before I was permitted to adopt Bad Leroy Brown and his sister from the rescuer in Wisconsin, I had to pass an unbelievable thorough application process and provide references and pics of the living area, inside and out, and construct enclosed secure areas their outside activities. I think it is a great idea to keep them under constant observation. The thought of someone dog-napping one of our furbabies or another animal (hawk/dog/fox) doing harm is a horrible thought.
