Umm, could you BE more vague? I can make some guesses about knowing him on a personal level. Is this website really honoring him and the line or are these people capitalizing on his reputation (for being a good Yorkie breeder)? It doesn't seem right to try to gather breeders that have even just 1/4 Parquin Yorkie to try to perpetuate the line, but I wonder if he would find it flattering or appalling.

It seems pretty obvious that the website is run by a "greeder". No reputable breeder would advertise like that!

What I find odd is that this person has no idea what to sell the pups for. Heck I'm not a breeder and I never will be but even I know the ball park figure!!

Maybe this was a way this person could advertise? Lost babe in the wood type fishing for people wanting a puppy? I mean honestly...

I asked about Parquines awhile back, I see them advertised in my local area quite often and wondered why they were so much. they are very nice looking dogs, i was just curious. I beleive mardelin helped answer my questions

Could one or the other..... 1/4 Parquin Yorkie....that's like saying I'm a 1/4 French and 1/8 Italian and another 1/8 something else. As Pat said....the line isn't pure once you've outcrossed. The only one that can produce Parquin is the the one that began the Parquin line.....

A ball park figure is just that. One has to be honest with oneself as to what they are producing; healthy, good representations of the breed with wonderful tempraments....

Price is varies from Geographical region to Geographical region and there are those that attempt to captilize on a Pedigree they obtained via the back door...Champion Sired, Champion Lines....etc. I've seen some very high prices from BYBers and those that will pay those high prices..

I knew him on a personal level...I found his Yorkies to be heavy, soft coated and would never dream of paying $3500 for a pet...but a breeder can charge as they please.
I was not surprised to hear of his death...no one deserves to be brutally murdered..but it just did not come as a big shock...

Mmm I seem to remember you stating on another post that you knew of him, I didn't realise you knew him.

I don't think I ever recall seeing any of his dogs in the ring, let alone have my hands on them....

Wowzer $3,500 for a pet....geez.....sounds like someone out here in California that is a legend in her own mind...one that lives I think in Beverly Hills.

Excuse me people.I didnt mean to offend anyone,but its impossible to please everyone.The real story -which no one bothers to find out, is the coke can shows the size of the pup.We love our dogs and if we sell 2 or 3 a year out of our pet ,that we love dearly,then thats our business.The pups bring someone years of joy!As for the name, we just wanted to know a little about the father to make sure we dont have weak,unhealthy,traits.The mother and father are our only pets,but they are part of our family.Thanks anyway for all your comments.

I had talked with him several times by phone when I visited my daughter in FT L from time to time..then we moved here and I met him at a show...talked a few times...but would never say I was a friend..just someone who talked Yorkies with him. He showed me a litter of puppies..and the pets were $3500..but that was only one litter and then I saw an ad for.pets $3500...

The adults I was shown were in full coat and they were not my type...heads were nice...but I can not maintain a heavy, soft coat...but again, I only saw perhaps 5...I have a friend who got a pet from the rescue that took over his dogs...not a good situation and it was a terrible time.

IMO, Raymond was not an easy man to get along with...but he loved Yorkies.

Now, see, you didn't say anything at all about "health and traits" in your original post - you just want to know how much you can get out of a puppy with "Parquins" in its lineage. I'm sorry you got offended, but your original question was about price, NOT health and it is common knowledge that placing a pup next to a small object is a tactic breeders of "tinies" use to prove just how small their dogs are, typically so that they can then charge more for them. And, shouldn't you have researched the health and traits of your pets before you decided to breed them, offering 2 or 3 A YEAR?

The only way one knows weak, unhealthy traits is knowing the entire pedigree backward and forward....every dog that has beed produced within the pedigree. Also, having the sire and dam tested for those genetic problems that plague our breed....and then that only tells you whether or not they are clear, not whether they are carriers of diseases.

As a breeder you should also know that the dam & sire contribute 50% to the offspring...grandsire & dam 25%; greatgrandsire & dam 12%

Again all your concerns should have been provided by the original breeders of your dam/sire.

Thanks Pat for sharing...I love hearing about different lines and the Kennel owners. Tuck info in my head and pull it out if I need it.

$3,500.00 is a lot of money for a show dog...much less a pet.
