The only way one knows weak, unhealthy traits is knowing the entire pedigree backward and forward....every dog that has beed produced within the pedigree. Also, having the sire and dam tested for those genetic problems that plague our breed....and then that only tells you whether or not they are clear, not whether they are carriers of diseases.
As a breeder you should also know that the dam & sire contribute 50% to the offspring...grandsire & dam 25%; greatgrandsire & dam 12%
Again all your concerns should have been provided by the original breeders of your dam/sire.
