| My husband's brother is a K9 in our town and his dog, a malinois, can scale the 6ft fence if he is really so inclined. I really believe that some people just should never be allowed to own pets, and certain breeds should have to be registered with the county and their owners should have to meet certain requirements to own one (proper containment for one) and undergo regular, random checks by animal control to make sure they are following the rules. There are just too many people who think having a pit or rottie or some other large dog looks so gangster and cool and they have no idea what it takes to own a dog like that. But I'm biased.

| Oh Erin, I'm so sorry about your friend I pray that she has a speedy and complete recovery.I really don't understand why owners of these dogs that do this aren't severly punished The poor dogs are euthanized and the owner will just go get more and be completely unresponsible with them so someone can get hurt down the road. IMHO those people should really be charged with assalt at the very least.

I'm so sorry about your friend; being attacked in such a manner must be so frightening and scary. I will say prayers for her; and hope she is not too badly injured.

| Sorry about your friend and I too, pray for her speedy and full recovery! I am so tired of hearing about irresponsible dog owners letting their pets run loose! People here in my neighborhood think it is perfectly acceptable too. They all claim their dogs "never hurt anyone." That is a common refrain -- of course NONE of them has ever hurt anyone UNTIL THEY DO! ALL pet owners need to maintain control over their animals at all times. If they are not physically with them, they need to be secured on their property where they CANNOT hurt anyone. I would not dream of letting my yorkies go bark, yip, and try to cause havoc in someone else's yard or out on public trails -- so why would these large animal owners think it is okay for them? Praying for more responsible pet owners everywhere!!!!

| So sorry to hear of this happening. This is one reason I rarely bring my dogs out in public, too many irresponsible people and wild pets running amok. Prayers are being said...

| Thank you guys for all of the kind words! I'm happy I had a place to vent my shock with people who totally understand the issue. Thankfully, she is going to be ok, and her story has already been on all of the news stations locally. Her husband just updated her condition on his facebook and it's worse than everyone thought at first. It wasn't just one arm, they ripped up both of her arms and legs, and bit her face a few times too. Two strangers who saw it happen stepped in and risked getting themselves hurt to fight the dogs off of her, or it would have been much worse. Hopefully the owner is held accountable, and her piano playing abilities are fully restored. That's what she is most worried about, according to her husband.

| Wow, what heroes those strangers were!!! Thank God they were there and rushed in to get those dogs off her and that they weren't attacked. I'll bet she will never forget those two people.
