I assumed you were confused as to why Madison didn't have the Biewer markings Breny was talking about. I was only stating she wasn't a tri. LOL

Well I have to say I do like the markings of the biewers better. It seems their markings are more consistent than parti yorkies.

However I would still prefer a parti yorkie as they are AKC registered and I truly love the terrier personality!! I've heard biewers have more of a laid back personality, kinda like my maltese. But I just adore that terrier personality, so parti yorkie all the way!!
I hope to have a parti yorkie someday but I have a very specific look in mind and I haven't seen too many partis that consistently have that look I want.

I would purchase one of each if I could. I love the look of both. Who could say no to either of those adorable puppy faces? Breny, your puppies are so beautiful! Harley and Paisley would accept a brother or sister no matter how they looked or what papers they have (they can't ready yet:eek:).

I have both Biewers and a Parti male.. My Parti male has the Irish Spotting pattern, which gives him the same more specific color placement that you would expect to see on the Biewer.. most of my Biewers also have the Irish spotting pattern as that is what I prefer, however, some have the Piebald pattern which is the more random placement of color with more white. These Biewers were born from Irish spotted parents but I kept them because of sound structure, good lines and other qualities as these are more important to me right now than specific color placement is. I will be adding more Parti's to my program to strengthen my Biewer lines by opening up the genetic pool and help improve the coats.

I love both the Biewer and the Parti.. I believe they are one in the same.. they are both tri colored yorkies.. the Biewer is just a German line of the tri yorkie that is not AKC registerable. Each of the lines have advantages and disadvantages but they can both complement each other.. it need not be an either or proposition.. they are one in the same dog. When bred together, they are registered as biewers. I do not hack off the tails of any of my puppies, Biewers or carriers and never will again.. I just can't imagine loosing that glorious happy little appendage.

The tail is such a huge component!!! I know exactly how Reesie is feeling based on his long tail!!!!!!! Happy, sad, scared, determined, worried etc. I wish NONE of these babies had their tails docked.

I's guessing my Reesie has the Irish spotting patterning as his color is symmetrical?? I would like to know more about my Reesie and why he looks the way he does. He looks EXACTLY like his mommy:) He is from Breny.....the most most loving, active, inquisitive, adventurous, active lil boy EVER!!!! Did I mention I love him to BITS!!!! :)

How can they be the same dog when one has the irish spotting gene and the other has the piebald gene. I understand they look alike but genetically they are different. Im not questioning you this just really confuses me how they could be called the same dog.

I just went back and read where your parti has the irish spotting gene. Im still really confused though why Ive read other parti owners whose dog has the piebald gene and no specific markings for spot claiming their parti is the same as a biewer. If they are not genetically the same how can they be the same dog

Biewers/Parti's get a "spotting gene" from both parents.. they may get an Irish spotting from one and a Piebald from another.. I believe, the Irish spotting is dominant.. I can't remember exactly, I'd have to go look that up.. of course, the parent also got two genes from their parent.. so you need to take that into consideration also.. the spotting gene is actually just a pattern of how much white there is or actually, how much color there isn't.. white is lack of color.. ranging from no white to extreme piebald.. (all white).

A litter of Biewers or a litter of Partis may have some pups that have the Irish spotting pattern and some that have the piebald pattern and some that have the extreme piebald.. all in the same litter.. it depends on the roll of the dice on what genes the parents gave to each pup.. there are also modifiers for face color placement that may also come into play.. it gets very exciting!!

Just because dogs have different spotting patterns, does not mean genetically they are different dogs.. they just have different spotting patterns controlling the patterning of their spots...or, it even could be the same spotting pattern with different degrees of color.

April Love I was wondering about the two tails one is more of a feather and the other a thick plume. Is the difference due to breed or coat cut?

In the video, my girl was only around 5-6 months old, thats why her tail wasnt full yet. :-) hers is almost as full as Nappys' now. They are quite literally joined at the hip so watching the two tails from behind when they play or run is so beautiful to see!! :-)
