It seems to me that the "true" yorkie fanciers that you've referred to and the same people you say have done the most research, have basically disregarded the views of early YT breeders and authorities, as well as, disregarded the historical writings of the late 1800 and early - mid 1900's. These "true" yorkie fanciers have chosen to ignore all the writings that the Maltese was used somewhere in the make up of the YT (Maltese being one of numerous breeds of dogs who have or carry the piebald gene). I suppose these "true" yorkie fanciers can try to rewrite history to suit their current views but I don't think the recessive genes in our dogs will magically disappear just to appease them.

Why the continual disrespect from standard breeders?
I've yet to see a Parti breeder be so rude to a standard breeder.
It's so sad!
Everyone here is here because they love Yorkies so much.
I don't get it, passions run high but why not about care in breeding like DNA testing, OFA, chic certifications, numbers of litters per year, properly matching a breeding pair, vaccinations, sending pups out an appropriate age etc: conformity in general and not just color?
Especially on a forum designed to include all types Yorkies.
Can't everyone just get along and respect each other for the hard work they do in breeding Yorkies-at least on here?

The reason they are so rude is because the proof is staring them in the face. The Parti yorkies are not going away and will not be " Drummed out" but increasing in registrations everyday and there is nothing they can do about it, so it makes them very angry.

I agree. They're very pretty dogs. If I had a dalmation with NO spots I'd still love it because it's MY dog and I'm not getting it as a show dog.

My question is IF the price of a dog is supposed to reflect the amount of time, money in vetting, grooming, health testing, quality(i.e standard) why are parti yorkies continously sold for a higher price than yorkshire terrier? Certainly it is not because it takes more time/money/testing to raise a parti...? Should a dalmation with no spots cost more than one that meets the standard with all the variables the same with both dogs (same health testing, same time and money into vetting)?

I don't think anyone on here is trying to turn it into YTCA talk as some stated. There are some members on here very interested in working hard to preserve the breed standard and keeping color faults out. Both sides are very passionate about what they believe or what is stated as standard.

Some Parti color yorkies are high priced and some standard yorkies are high priced. Its is up to the buyer to research, as with all dogs there are all kinds of sellers. I saw a yorkie on puppyfind the other day for $10,000.00. Holy moly.

Exactly the show breeders and parti breeders both have honorable reasons for their stance and they will probably never see eye to eye. I dont get into the parti debate but those high prices give me reason for pause also. But I quess just like the yorkie breeders there are some parti breeders who are just in it for the money also

As I have said, I have no problem with the yorkie standard. I understand that is how they want to keep it.
I DO have a problem with the continuous lies and statements being made concerning them as being a mix when history proves that it is not true.
If the YTCA would just talk to some of the parti breeders and find out what will make both sides happy it might help. But instead the YTCA shuts their doors to talk to any one of us. They may be surprised if they took the time to actually talk to some of us. It could be worked out, but nothing is ever solved by closed ears and doors.

I suppose the parti breeders can re-write history to suit thier own views and needs as well. That is a two way street. That is not why I posted. I think that yorkiegirl2 and I think it was breezaway(could be wrong) need to get their facts straight before posting things like "look at the pretty white Skye terrier" or the "parti Skye" pictures. Those are not white Skyes and those are not parti colored Skyes.
And yes there are unreputable Skye breeders that are breeding chocolate and other faulty colors, just as with the Yorkshire. There are even a few in puppy mills now. The big difference is the members of the STCA are extremely picky on who gets a Skye and they are not a popular breed. That ensures the quality of the breed, protects the breed standard and eliminates "breeders" that constantely want to "tweak" the breed standard to suit ther own needs.
