Stand Up for What's Right . . .

I love this forum! I have never been attacked, slandered, or intimidated! I got my Bella as a rehome, she was my FIRST dog ever and boy did I have alot to learn. I spent alot of time reading and learning from the many people that pos ton this site. The membership helped me to become a very educated Yorkie owner. I am heartbroken to see that there is arguing, backbiting, ugly words, etc. between Yorkie lovers. (FB) I am hoping that those of us that are very satisfied with the running of this forum will refrain from becoming involved in this controversy. I was raised to ignore people that say disparaging remarks about others. I went to this FB page to become inmed and was sad to see that there was such negative talk, especially by one vocal member. I will continue to support this forum as I feel that it does make a huge difference in my dog knowledge. I will not read the negative FB page again. Each person is entitled to their opinion and has the right to free speech. I am not sure what sparked such a volatile reaction to a forum. Please, let's not give attention to this oppositional post on FB. let's continue to make the YT forum a place for sharing, learning, and care. I would hate to see it fall victim to negative controversy that would dilute the message of this forum . . . the love, care, and welfare of a wonderful breed . . . the Yorkshire Terrier.

I agree, a great Post, sounded like it came from the heart

But, if I may make a slight and humble adjustment, I'd say...
"Stand Up for What's Right...for you".

Much of the dissension I've seen, was started by closed minded,
egocentric people, who think that "their way" is the only way
to do something. And, if you don't do it that way, then everything
you say/do is wrong. And, they just can't let it go, move on, and
find something they do agree on.
Shame.

I have a saying...
"Some of my worst enemies across a Conference Table, have become
some of my Best Friends across a Dinner Table".

I appreciate someone with conviction, but...

Yes, it is good to ignore all that you can but an attempt to ruin a reputation in public is a serious problem that does sometimes need to be addressed by someone with standing in their community. And venting can be healthy if not cruel or obsessive in nature. I think the Bible even talks about the wisdom of a prudent man not taking offense but also advises rebuking a neighbor who has wronged us lest we sin. I'm paraphrasing poorly as it is late and it has been a while since I have read either of those verses but I guess it is wise to not be quick to get angry when unfair things are said or done but if the wrong is sufficient to cause us serious grief, it is probably best to try to clear the air.

Yes, I believe all the information and background needed was stated and hopefully everyone will know what they need to to protect themselves from outside YT drama and stick to the point of being here, education, sharing and fun.

I want to add (because of my recent ugly experience) be careful with any forum, anywhere who you give your personal contact information to.

I have purchased several things from sellers here and am confident they are reputable in their business practices and I have given my contact information to many people who are also reputable and respectful of having such information, but everyone should exercise caution in getting to know someone via a safe place like YT and corresponding here before giving out your information.

I hope no one misses out on anything because of this, but simply uses caution.

There will always be disagreements (controversy) of opinion, but there are rules here that everyone needs to abide by, I hope everyone will understand often passions run high especially when it comes to animal care etc but remains respectful.

I agree! I was all for just ignoring that whole FB idiocy. But with so much personal insulting and cruelty going on, I understood why it needed to be addressed head on. You can only stand by and allow something for so long before you have to hold your head high and say -- "enough, this is wrong!" I wish we could take the page down, but I think they have already made arses of themselves enough that NO ONE with any sense will take it seriously. Hopefully they will just implode naturally. It is only a matter of time until they turn on their own.

You are so correct it is Leviticus 19:17 NIV says.."'Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.
But also to cross reference this: Matthew 18:15 "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.

I think its best we just ignore that facebook page just act like it isnt even there. I dont even go there and read so I dont know or care if they have said something about me. I think the more they know they are getting to us the more they will keep it up. There is a forum out there and they used to do Negative posts about me and others on here. I would get upset or be amused by what they said and then they said terrible things about this breeder that died of cancer like they knew she was going to hell and stuff like that. Thats when I stopped reading that forum and I could care less what they say about me because they are lunatics and will say anything

I agree. Some wise one stated on this site (referring to questions about breeding and yorkie sizes ..etc) If we don't make a statement as to what is correct it implies we are approving what is wrong. I am sure I don't have the words correct but I hope I am expressing the meaning. I do think we have to respond and stand by Jodi and the rest that have been hurt. I think HOW we respond and how we protect what is right show WHAT we are!
