For future purchases of Yorkies from reputable breeders, most if not all good breeders will have a clause in their contract that stipulates the return of the puppy to them or at the minimum requires that they approve a future rehoming. This is a clause that is taken very seriously indeed by breeders. While I can see many purchasers brushing over the contract it is your responsibility to learn the details of said contract, and preferably prior to signing on the dotted line.

For potential buyers of "rehomed" Yorkies, especially those being sold by private parties, I would hope that you would ask a) who the breeder is and b) find out if they have the right to rehome this puppy to you. It is within your right to ask to see "proof" of this right to rehome, by seeing the contract or the agreement to purchase/sell. If the contract is "misplaced or lost", simply contact the breeder to chec k with them

Poop eating is the least of my worries with a pup. It's a behavior that is learned from mom. Then there are those that because they don't like to see their area dirty it is their way of keeping it clean and not leaving their scent. Can it be fixed, absolutely....one just has to be diligent, watching when they poop and cleaning it up immediately. It can also be a nervous issue, unhappy.

It's a joke amongst many of the old time breeders, that if a female is eating poop it's good sign she'll make a good mother......after all doesn't she diaper the pups.

I am so relieved to hear that this little girl is back with someone who loves her dearly. Every baby deserves to be protected, cared for, and loved. When we take one of these babies into our hearts and homes, we do so with a promise to provide the very best and give them the unconditional love that they give us. I have great respect for breeders who put their heart and souls into these babies. This thread is evidence of their love. We have seen breeders on YT who would do anything to provide the love, socialization, and care for these babies so that they will go to their new homes feeling healthy, loved, and secure. It must hurt them so much to give these babies up, but I hope they know the happiness they bring to families who completely adore these babies. I can't imagine not falling madly in love with a little one, no matter what they did. My little Gracie came into our lives when she was a little over six months, and we had to deal with poop issues, too. But she was the most loving and most perfect little girl, and she completely stole our hearts and changed our lives. We worked through things with her and were rewarded with our precious little lovebug and the very best life ever with her. Thank you to those of you who helped Vicki get her little girl back. Someone very lucky will get to share life with this litle girl, and no doubt she will be very, very loved.

Oh good! Hopefully if the breeder is a YT member she can direct the new adopter here and we can all see an update after hearing the pups rocky start.

If not I'd love to hear updates from those (even second hand) about the pup finding a good forever home.

I wasn't aware I was re-hashing it...just wanted to put out general stuff because people read these forums later...I only found YT buy Googling some specific stuff and inadvertently found a thread on the topic...and well here I am now. Of course I threw in my 2 cents and what little I know as well.

Well then you are uniformed. You are a new member to YT, go on here, and your first post is in the For Sale and Wanted Yorkies, offering up a Durrer puppy, to someone you don't know, to a forum you don't know, with no right by contract to do so. Those are the actions of, at the very minimum an uncautious owner. To our eyes, she was in danger indeed, of being rehomed to an inappropriate party, and to be rehomed in violation of contract.

IMHO anyone who could do this, in violation of contract, and certainly without pursuing to the fullest return to your breeder, is someone who does not have the best interest of this precious puppy at heart.

Shame on you.

I have followed this thread from the beginning. I also had seen the other thread where you said you were selling that pup. I was alarmed by your comments and had asked a couple of people if the breeder was aware and was assured that she was being contacted which is exactly what should have happened. I have to say that I was horrified when someone told me that you had specifically messaged them to ask if they wanted to purchase the pup.
Perhaps you think she was safe all along....I would think that if you felt coming online to solicit buyers was safe, that you must live in an extremely naive world.

I saw a remark from you about sticking with GSDs...I think if you find dog behaviors as disturbing as you seem to, that perhaps a live dog is not really for you.

Truly a great post, but it doesn't surprise me. You always speak with such love of these pups and with great insight. I have learned so much about Yorkies from you, but that was just the beginning.
