| Don't believe the hype! Austin was neutered almost 1 week and a half ago. We thought he was going to be more calmer and kinder.. YEAH RIGHT!! I think Austin is crazy!!! After he got neutered he started to act crazy. He attacks his toys, rolls all over the floor growling and barking and his tongue is wagging. When I ask him whats wrong and go pet him, he bites. Is this his new way of playing or did the anesthesia get to his brain? I sometimes wonder if he will stick like this FOREVER..lol Of course I still love my wittle pwince

| Laughing at "lipstick". My yorkie will be 6 months old in mid March. We will be making his appointment in the next week or two. I haven't seen his lipstick either but he loves to spend the morning with his stuffed bunny. Sighs. He really hasn't lifted his leg. I am glad our pug has not taught Jasper the yorkie the trick of "this is how you dig your claws into mommy's wall and squiirrrrtttt". |

| Reesie has not humped anything yet!! The closest he gets to that is he "mounts" Snick meaning he puts his 2 paws on Snick and stands up trying to be "above" him showing dominance. Seen his lipstick twice, but NEVER seen Snickers's. Whew!!!! Reesie still is squating and I would like it to stay that way. He kinda lifts his one leg up a little when he pee's. Oh the decisions!!!!!! Hmph! Viv

| Armani was 6 months old when he was neutered- there were no behavioral changes although he did stop getting "excited" as much. It happened weekly at least before his neuter and it has only happened twice in the 3.5 years since.

| Bullet was 7 months old and just under 3 lbs. His behavior hasn't changed, even though it's 5 months later... He still tries to hump Rio but she always puts him in his place. He still tries to hump my DH's arm - I think it's a dominance thing! Of course my DH is such a softy, he tells him "no" but then gives him a kiss! LOL! Bullet has never tried to hump me though. I don't know if I should be offended. Seriously though, one thing I am happy about is that Bullet never learned to lift his leg and mark. He still squats like a puppy and is the most loving little boy! I him sooooo much!

| I didn't plan to get Harley nutered, but one of his testicles didn't descend. We waited and waited to see if it would, but by nine months it still had not so I went ahead and got it done. He had already starting marking...even a few times on the wall inside!! Before the nuter, he had to go a lot and didn't seem to try and hold it very long unless he was home alone (then he wouldn't go at all until I got back). Now after the nuter, he can hold it much longer. He never goes inside at all. He will occasionally hike his leg outside still. He acts calmer, but still playful and fun all the time like he was before just not as crazy. And he only had to have 4 teeth pulled when he had surgery (canines). I called A LOT for updates and they were happy to give them to me! |

| Not really sure why, but my mom waited to have her male toy poodle neutered two years ago when he was 11. Didn't help him with his "habits" Probably because he was already well set in his ways at that point!

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | We had Quincy done just four months ago at age 8 up til than be was our stud and since the surgery he has gained about 5bls. If I had known that that would have happend I would not have had it done. He's too heavy and is not good on his little body to be so big !! I've had him on a diet for the past two months, with very little results... not sure what I can do other than limit his intake or possibaly swith to a diet meal.

| My dog was neutered a couple weeks ago at age 6 months. He still humps his bed occasionally, but doesn't hump our other dog as much as he used to. Our vet says it's not sexual, but rather a show of dominance. He actually does seem a lot calmer to me since the neuter. Of course he still plays and acts crazy sometimes, but he just seems a bit calmer to me...maybe it's all in my head! |

| Nue I talked to a man who has Papillon and ran agility trials. He told me that if you neutor the male by 4 months they will always squat to piddle. I notice that one lady on the forum says that hers still does so and he was neutered at 7 months. Just thought I would put in my two bits worth. Quote:

| I had my male (Jack) neutered @ 14 months when the female (Josie) went in heat. I had both of them neutered and spayed at the same time. Jack was too big to father Josie's babies so I decided to fix her too. Jack was back to his normal self in 48 hours. He is still spunkie and sweet. He quit marking his spot quit a bit but I have found wherer he marks here and there not sure why he just started doing it again. I have seen him also squat to pee-pee too. Oh and the "lipstick" how gross! I could not stand anymore to see that thing hang out. First time I seen it I thought something was wrong with him. LOL |
