Yes, he is more of a teddy bear face! And then there is the "pixie face" which is really small "pixie-like" facial features like the light colored dog on the My Little Mia website. | |

| I think they can vary, after all I think all Yorkies have the babydoll face in more ways than one. But This is what I think of when i hear 'Baby Doll Face'. Father and Son runs in the family I guess..lolol Last edited by YorkieRini; 11-10-2005 at 04:48 PM. |

| After seeing all these pictures I think I have a doll face Yorkie, too! I am new to this site and a new to owning a Yorkie.... it has been a dream of mine for years. My little one is very small and sweet. We lost our dear Sheltie after 13 years this last April and were able to get Pippin this last July. She helps us in our grief over Tami. I hope to keep reading all kinds of tips here of how to be the best Yorkie Mom ever! |

| OK, guess i should introduce myself first, I am Denise and I live in Ohio! I am owned by three yorkie girls and recently joined. I am very good friends with a show breeder and her and I cringe everytime we hear someone go on and on about their "baby face" yorkies! This term IMHO is way overused and is as bad as the term "teacup" and neither are used by reputable breeders of course! Yorkies can be cute or typey or even adorable, but people like to try and tell people that this is the beloved baby face or baby doll face you hear so much about...it is an advertisement ploy...and it is not talked about enough~ The YTCA actually has it in their ethics that terms like this should not be used when describing your yorkies....you can see that at their website! SO of course there is no clear cut definition for this term... Denise |

| Well as a newbie to a newbie ... I don't think the intent here is to offend you or anyone else. It is just pride of being 'moms' I think is the reason people talk this way. I personally am not into ownership to show off my little one and have her be judged by snooty people. I just enjoy owning one and if I can personalize her more by calling her 'babyface' then that is my perogative. Perhaps you should go out and come back in when you can be more polite. Anyone agree with me? |

| yorkiegirls4me, once you stay around here longer you will learn very fast most of us do not agree with either term. we are well aware that these terms are used as marketing tools. we have come a long way on this forum in my opinion about these terms, and most of us have the same feelings about them. wich is exactly why i said in my post "so to speak". we all welcome your imput and hope that you stick around longer i am sure that since you are in the "yorkie show buisness" we can also learn more from you. so welcome to yt!!!! and maybe you can tell us what are the proper terms to describe the different facial features in yorkies?

| Gosh Denise, What's with the chip on your shoulder? Who is your breeder friend? I too live in Ohio. Well I've been to show and have heard show breeders comment that a certain judge likes the 'fine boned baby face' Yorkie. There are certain types of faces or looks. Who cares what people who love their Yorkies call them. What about when referring to the opposite of a baby faced Yorkie. The term is the 'Terrier look' or 'Looks like a Silky'. Why do you not cringe when you hear those terms? Just relax, it's being used affectionatly by Yorkie owners. Wini Quote:
