| This Is Strange In a previous post I said that I had rescued Oliver my Shih Tsu from a carton by the side of Walmart. Well this is really weird. My friend and I went to Walmart and there was a man selling Yorkies in the store for $400. Something clicked in my mind. First the Shih Tsus left and now this guy was selling Yorkies under his coat. This lady who was there when I got Oliver came over to me and we spoke. We both agreed that something was very fishy about this whole thing so she dialed 911 on her cell phone. When the police arrived this guy tried to leave but the police apprehended him. We both have a feeling that the dogs were stolen by him. I don't know what happened after that because we both left. Why would somebody steal dogs and then leave them abandoned and then steal more dogs? Very Very Strange. Last edited by lexi43; 12-26-2010 at 09:09 AM. |

| I'm confused~are you saying that there was a man wandering around inside Walmart selling Yorkie puppies hidden inside of his coat? Also, at the same Walmart you found a box of s**tzu puppies? Where would this guy be stealing puppies from to begin with?

| A fast update. The lady who we met at Walgreens when we got Oliver was walking her Husky outside and she just told me that the Man who was selling the Yorkies really owned the dogs. He owned the mother and father. He had to papers to prove it. Why he was selling the puppies at Walgreens we (The previous post I said Walmart I meant Walgreens I always get them confused. Anyway that solves one problem but we still don't know where the Shih tus came from. Anyway I'm glad this guy wasn't a thief because I'm am in love with Oliver and I woulld never give him up Well I asked the lady, her name is Sylvia how she knew all of this and she said she knows somebody who works at Walgreens. |

| Okay so here's the final chapter on Oliver. According to Sylvia who just came back from Walgreens. Somebody saw a boy place a box on the side of Walgreens and got into a car and leave. Nobody thought too much about it until they heard crying from the box that's where they found the puppies. Now all the puppies have new homes. Nobody reported any theft so we assume they just got rid of the puppies for whatever reason. All I know is that Oliver is my baby and I love him with all my heart and I don't want to know anymore. The story with the man with the Yorkies I don't know about and as long as the puppies are his that's all I have to know. I don't approve of what he is doing but at least he didn't just abandon them and tried to get them a home. I don't know what happened with the police but I'm sure he got into a bit of trouble for what he was doing but I'm not sure if it's against the law to sell your own puppies. I think If I had been at Walgreens when he was selling the Yorkies I might have bought one from him, but maybe not. |

| Let me clarify my last posting in my last line I said "I think if I had been at Walgreens when he was selling the Yorkies I would have bought one." I meant to say if I had been in Walgreens and I found out the Yorkies were his and not stolen I might have bought one from him. I left before the whole thing was ironed out. I just found out the story today from Sylvia. I hope my posting makes more sense. This has been a crazy week for me and my brain is kind of buzzed out. | This is one reason why I would strongly discourage people from showing their puppies in their homes (especially in this horrible economy and desperate times for some people) --- In our area people would leave for work, UPS/Fed-ex dropped off holiday packages and people would come up and steal the packages (I don't think they caught who was doing it yet as it was just on our local news yesterday). What's to keep someone from coming to look at a person's puppies, acting like they're sincere in purchasing one, tell the breeder they'll think about it and get back to them and case their place, learn their schedule and when they leave break in and steal the puppies, not to mention the breeding stock? I'm thinking we're going to start hearing more and more of that sort of thing, especially regarding the small "portable" (read: easy to steal) dogs, like Yorkies that command a high price. Around here puppies are frequently sold 'on the street' and I don't think anyone would think it wasn't on the up & up (being sold by owner). (no, haven't seen "yorkies" sold on the street, but other dogs) Times are bad and after reading about all the various scams people here have been through it wouldn't surprise to me learn someone had their puppies/breeding dogs stolen within days of showing them to someone. As a 'buyer' I certainly would understand someone not wanting to show me their dogs at their home over a safe public place.

| I never thought of this. But why a drug store instead of a mall. It seemed really strange being that previously a carton of Shih Tsu puppies were left on the side of Walgreens. We took one of the puppies and we are in love with him. I would feel real guilty if somebody was looking for these dogs and I had it. So far I haven't heard anything about stolen Shih Tsus but you never know. I'm glad the guy was on the up and up and like I said I would have bought one of his dogs if I had known but we left while the police were talking to the man and this lady Sylvia who was there on the day we got Oliver and when this man was selling yorkies and she happens to know somebody who works there and she found out the latest information. I guess Oliver is enough for me. BTW Sylvia has one of the female Shih Tsus she named her Gloria. |

| There was an armed robbery I think it was last year in California, three gunmen entered a breeder's home and took all the puppies and the Mommie dog. They were later caught as the puppies were sold and somehow traced back to the breeder. Be very careful....

| I thought about that also, but these are his yorkies as far as I know. I'm glad I didn't get the chance to buy one from him because I would be worried that I would have to return the dog and that would kill me. I'm very happy with my Oliver and my four other fur babies. I now have a full house 3 girls and 2 boys. |
