| ![]() We live in Georgia and do get some cold days and even snow and ice. Sophie Kate LOVES snow, she barrels through it head first and will jump in the air. I always put a coat or sweater on her when the sun goes down and during day if needed. My rule is if I have a coat on so does she.

| ![]() Darwin and Mabel always go outside and so far the coldest it's been is about -11 celcius (12 fahrenheit). Our walks are really short - we get their business done and then we're back inside. Darwin doesn't mind the cold but Mabel is so much smaller I worry about her. It's funny this subject came up; we got a visit from the Humane Society a couple days ago - it was -3 celcius (26 fahrenheit), no wind and sunny - it was beautiful. Our 3/4 Great pyrenees (125 pounds) was outside and our mayor complained because she thought he was shivering and needed her help! Zain has never shivered a day in his life. I call him hairy, hot and happy. We can even see his breath inside our home, he gets so hot. It was completely ridiculous, even the humane society apologized for coming to our home. Caught her in a lie as she told the humane society that Zain's water dish was frozen over - he has a working heated water dish and a dog house with a wind break - ok, I'll shut up - it was just so completely laughable. Can you tell we have history with our mayor?? Got to love small towns! ![]() |

| ![]() Jackson goes outside no matter how cold, although we don't get the EXTREME temps like some places do, but it still can get pretty darn cold with the wind chill. We had so much snow last year and a few blizzards too, and we still went out, though it was definitely a pain in the 4ft snow. We just made it work. I did use the outdoor screened in porch as a potty place during the blizzard (it was covered in one foot of snow itself).

| ![]() we go out in all weather, but we did buy a potty patch to try on the back deck when the snow gets deep or it's raining cats and yorkies outside. |

| ![]() Mine go outside no matter how cold... but they just go quicker! I think they get used to the climate they live in and you should not have to worry as long as they are only outside to go to the bathroom quickly and then come back in.

| ![]() Gatsby was potty trained in February, so he does not mind the cold. I will walk him around 25 degrees but any colder then that and I cant breath outside so he has to use the pads unless the kids take him out but they stop doing that around 35 degrees Gatsby hates the heat if it is hotter then 75 degrees out he will not walk even a single step off the front walk even in shoes for his feet he will not walk

| ![]() -4F and -20C here right now and ours goes outside. He makes it quick but he still goes out. Only takes 30 sec to a min before his feet start to freeze. Canadian dogs have to be tough. |

| ![]() Last winter, Max and I went out for our morning 1-mile walks even when the temps dipped a little below 20 degrees. This winter, we have missed quite a few walks because we have had wind gusting 20-40 mph many days. Max is pretty hardy, but poor Teddy doesn't have the same body heat. I drag him back inside when I see him shivering too much.

| ![]() All three of mine love the snow. They will go out no matter how cold and the deeper the snow the better. It does get very cold here in the winter and there are days they will just run out and right back inside. But right after the snow they are leaping and sticking their head in the mounds of snow. Now let's not talk about rain.......nope they will all look at me like I've lost my mind to even suggest to potty outside. Oh wait, Bogey will go out no matter what it's doing. He's my good boy and doesn't do anything naughty inside the house.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I think it is in the 30's right now, which is super cold for Louisiana. I think the colder it gets, the more mine LOVE to go outside, and the longer they take! It seems as if one is always standing by the back door wanting out. We have a doggie door cut in our screen door, so we open the door and wait for them to potty and let them back in before closing the main door. Sometimes Cooper fakes having to potty so he can run a lap around the perimeter of the yard, barking his head off the whole time...when he comes in, he jumps in my lap, and he feels like a chunk of ice. I think my babies are really Alaskan Malamutes ![]() |
