Hi Everyone,

Our baby Mignon (aka The Princess Mignon) joined our family on October 31st. She will celebrate her 3 month birthday

on Wednesday, weighs 2.9 pounds, and is without a doubt the most adorable baby

anyone could ever ask for! She seems to be adjusting to her new life with us very well. Sleeps from about 9PM to 2AM, wakes us up to go outside, then sleeps again till 6AM. We've had a couple of "not eating much" days, but a dab of raw honey seemed to perk her right up. As I have seen from reading the great posts we are not alone with the housebreaking struggle - but then she's only been here a week and all in all doing great! She does seem to be scratching and biting quite a lot but I can't find any sign of fleas (heaven forbid!). Could it be adjusting to our carpeting

or something else

. I'm looking forward to lots of conversation with you all and posting her picture real soon (need to figure out how to size down the pixels) so everyone can see our precious angel. Thanks for the great forum!!

Hi and welcome to YT. I can't wait to see pictures of Mignon. I am not that great with the whole photo thing. I use the camera software and reduce the picture to 640 x 480 pixels and it works fine. There are a lot of people here who can help with the pictures if this doesn't work. As far as the itching has she gone for her vet visit yet? It could be a number of things. Mac had very dry skin and itched frequently the vet prescribed medication (unfortunately I forget what it was) but it cleared it up. It could be food allergies. I would call the vet?

Yes she is adorable and Congratulations ....There is nothing like having a new puppy in the house...

She shouldn't be scratching though and really COULD have fleas - have you looked at her head right above the eyes ? or on her tummy/groin area ? They are really hard to see with the dark hair and if you think she does have fleas - your VET can give you something for a yorkie her size - Lots of times they come from the breeder with fleas ....I know my Chanel did and we got rid of them really easily - I only saw the ONE flea and she got treatment right away and never had another since....

she is soo adorable. Is she just scratching in the collar region? Maggie still does that occasionally. They have a hard time getting use to the collar. If it is somewhere else though, I agree with Villette. You should check her and if you aren't exactly sure how.. ask your vet. If you let them go too long with fleas they'll get really dry skin and a bald spot from scratchign and biting..it's so sad

My 80lb dog had this problem and my dad refused to believe me that he had fleas. Poor guy is allergic to them too.. so he had issues

He's ok now though.

You said you figured out what the scratching was for...what was it? I know mine had fleas when I first got them too. They're really hard to see with all their little dark hair as a pup (or as an adult for that matter).

We look forward to hearing from you and Mignon!!

That's so exciting! I keep thinking I'm gonna get over how cute everyone's dog is on here, but its not really going away. She's adorable and I love the name Mignon, made me smile, and now i'm looking like a weirdo at work w/ a huge smile on my face at my workdesk. Congratulations!
