First let me say this, you are a wonderful person to help Marley and Pickles - Thank you.

Pickles is priceless and cute and has an awesome name, she deserves the best life and not living outside in a crate.

Marley is a good looking dog, he doesn't look heavy in the picture.

Good for you for taking in Pickles. Oh and bty I love that name. Some people don't deserve to have animals. Your MIL shouldn't even own a gold fish. Also good for you for taking in Marley. I used to have a beagle named Daffodill. Now I have 4 dogs and hopefully I will be taking in a rescue as soon as I can get Zach housebroken. As somebody said in their post your MIL should be left outside in 18 degree weather in a crate.
