| Eye Cleaner Hello everyone, I was at Wal-Mart ealier today and I saw these q-tip swabs in the dog aisle that are supposed reduce the look of tear stains on your puppy. Has anyone tried this product? |

| I used to have bad problems with Bentley's eyes tearing and staining especially because he is pretty light colored around his face. Ever since we switched to Bil-Jack food it has totally cleared up and there is absolutly zero staining now! I never found a product that removed it and I tried several. I read somewhere on here that red beet pulp that is in a lot of dog foods causes the tear stains. It made since to me.

Tell me more about the Bil-Jack food. What kind of base does it have? I have never seen it. Where do you buy it and how did you get on to it?

| I tried those little swabby things, too. Pippa must think I'm trying to poke her eyes out with them because she absolutely goes off the hook if they come at her. Now I just use wet cotton balls and she tolerates that pretty well.

The tear stains Bentley had a bad problem with were a brownish red color so when I read on here that the red beet pulp was in lots of dogs fooods and that it contributed to it it made sense because after we switched foods we don't have that problem anymore.

| I meant to also add that Bentley also had stains around his mouth from the food too I guess because he licked around his face....you can notice it in the old picture in my avitar.....now he isn't stained there either!!! I have a new picture that I'm waiting to get posted on my avitar and you can really see the difference. It's posted on the board here too on the avitar thread. sorry for the typos....i'm sleepy

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I HAVE to share this because I REALLY want to try this stuff - another member posted about a product called EYE ENVY. She said after using all the Petco and Petsmart products, this is the first product she tried that actually WORKED !! Just type the name and the distributors come up in the searches - Chanel just started getting tear stains and thanks to Pat ...YorkieRose - Who sent the girls a SUPER Thoughtful gift - (THANK YOU PAT !) .....We are going to order this....I've been looking at Tear Stain removers now for a while and this is the first one I heard RAVE reviews about. |

| I also feed the Biljac dog food. I had trouble finding something my Westie would eat and then I remembered years ago my Sheltie (who was a picky eater) liked the Biljac. I get the frozen kind because my Westie loves it. I buy it at Walmart in the frozen food section. You can also get the dry. My Yorkie will eat it too, although she is a picky eater and doesn't eat as much as I would like her too, so I fix her other things a lot of the time. She loves chicken and eggs. Last night I browned ground round for a dish I was making and I took out some of it for her. My husband says I shouldn't do this as it will make her even more picky, but I love to see her eat good. My Westie loves the Biljac. I also bought some of the Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover Soul and they like it pretty well. My white Westie has none of the staining around his mouth. Our Westie is getting pretty pretty chubby so I think I should cut back on his portions. It's hard to do when he stands there looking up at me wanting more. I'm such a softie when it comes to both my furbabies. I can't help it. I'm the same way with my grandchildren. They know they can talk grandma out of anything. |
