| So i get home and greet Dud, and pretty much bow down to him. Giving him so much of me. Meanwhile Dex is so darn beside himself to see me and jumping and trying to get my attention (as much as I hated it) I mostly ignored him ![]() The breeder gave me 2 bully sticks, i never had them before, but decided while we were having dinner to let them each have one, (dex had them before) All i can say is OMG , Dud wasn't sure what to think of those smelly things, BUT when I took them away after 15 min was the reward...they both went ape chit looking all over for them, Dudley behind Dex and vice versa..that lasted about 20 min but..YEAH![]() So now Dud is back to turning his nose at him...I'll try those sticks again in the morning and see how that goes...Now i need to look them up and order some to have ![]() Are they bad for dogs, how often can they have them, how long should they be allowed to chew them in one sitting? Breeder said to toss them out when they get to be about 2".

| I don't think bully sticks are bad for them; I'd rather that than rawhide. But, like everything else in life . . not too much of a good thing. Mine probably get one every two weeks or so. Lucy will chew on hers and make it last ~ but Ringo will eat his in one day and that can't be good! I'd probably let them have it for a little bit every day if they didn't eat too much of it at one time. And if it's not a problem when you try to take them away. I have to give bully sticks in their crate or else Ringo would have two and Lucy would have none. So, it's good if they are not fighting over them.

| This is a great thread!! I'm planning on getting Snickers a brother in the near future and looked for a thread just like this!! I bet your boys will be BFF sooner than you think!! I'm sure the age difference makes a huge difference!! Snick is 2.5 yrs old and hope to add a brother who is semi close to his age, but it's going to take time to find the perfect little bro for him, so I'm also thinking about maybe just getting a puppy but fear exactly what your going through!!! Good luck girl, it'll all work out in the end!! Holiday hugs, Snick & Viv

| Things were so tense in my house the first couple of weeks that my son broke down and started telling me how he wished that we hadn't got a second dog; that he couldn't even relax in his own house anymore for fear of them fighting . . SERIOUS second thoughts. But everyone kept telling me that it might take some time; to be patient and work with them; and to RELAX. Cause they were picking up on my tension and fears too. And they were right. You just gotta get through these next couple of weeks or maybe just the next few days. Then when they bond and play, you won't need a TV anymore cause you will have free entertainment every day!

| See? It's getting better already. My boys LOVE bully sticks. But make sure there is no aggression with one trying to steal the other. Keep them a little bit separated if you can. Mine chew bully sticks for about 15 minutes every day. Maybe 1/2 hour. I leave them out with their toys and let them chew at their leisure. If it's more than 1/2 hour or so I take it away. I throw them away at around 2". I get the from Baxtersmommy. Great service, great price, non-smelly and the boys love 'em.

| Relax, it takes a little time. Many doggies go thru this at first, then become best friends. Don't get discouraged, and they will work it out. In the meantime be sure you never leave them together unattended.

| Just give it some time. I thought Hot Rod was being a brat with Maggie all this time and it turns out they luv each other. Hubby comes down first in the mornings and he says that they are usually in the same bed when he sees them.
