It took about a month before things settled down. I had serious second thoughts.
And we had to work at it as well; as others have mentioned. Walk them together as soon as you are able; treat your first dog like the KING to help ease his jealousy; make sure he gets some alone time without he pup; help to initiate their play together when he settles down.
