| Sometimes they go to work with me, sometimes they don't. I changed jobs just to accommodate them. (yeah, a little weird, but why not???). Days they don't go, it's about 10 hours. But I have the two (one has three puppies) so the two keep themselves company. Plus they have their "cat friend". They're glad to see us when we get home...of course, time on the computer is really time away from them also. So figure that in. Kendra |

| Roxie is home for about 8 hours while I work. I have never left her for longer than that. If I think I may be longer than that, I call DBF to stop by and take her out. If I am going out for the day and don't know when I will be back (such as a trip to the city or something like that), I will leave her with my mom.

| Hi, I think every dog whatever the breed, needs to be treated as an individual. I have three, different breeds. My Westie is happy to lie around all day and has never been a problem when I go out. My Shih-Tzu cross, is a little more work! she needs toys and chews to keep her busy, but Kiki my Yorkie baby, goes with the flow...but she has never been on her own, and the longest I have left them alone for has been 4 hours at any one time. Even if I have had to pop back home for toilet, duties and walkies etc.... I am lucky too that when I go on hols, my family house sit my furby kids.

| I work from home so I'm lucky to be able to not have to leave Alfie, Layla & Scooter for too long. When i do pop out I try not to be longer than 4 hours but I'm sure Alfie (yorkie 13 months and Scooter German shepherd 4yrs) would just sleep all the time. Layla (german shepherd 15 months) doesn't seem to sleep as much as the other 2 dogs. I do believe that dogs adapt to their owner's lifestyle though. When I was a child we had a cairn terrier and both my parents worked but I was home from school about 4pm and he just seemed happy to sleep. I'm sat at the dining table now, doing some work and they are all asleep but I know as soon as i move they will wake up and follow me, well not so much Alfie as he is snuggled up on the sofa between 2 cushions

| About 4 hours. If im out all day, I can fence them in the bathroom with food, water and pee-pad but that is only if i have a affair to go to. If i go away overnight, which is rarely. I have someone come in 4 x's a day to walk, play, feed them . They are my babies. Wish i could take them all with me |

Besides she is fun company! Believe me -- I know I am fortunate now to be retired and not have to leave mine all the time -- but I had MANY years that that was not the case. Just like I had to tell my human kids -- it's QUALITY time, not QUANTITY time that counts most.

| I became a major wuss when I got my first Yorkie, Apple...After a year of working in Corporate America, and running my tail off, everyday, to let her out (she wouldn't pad train ), I quit my job, as a retail mgr., and started a professional pet sitting service...I'm in and out, all day, but try to make the stretch no longer than about 4 hrs...They seem to be o.k. w/that...Apple looks at me w/sad eyes, when I say "mommy is going to pet sit"...Buzz and Cha Cha, just curl up in a bed, somewhere, and go to sleep...Best career change I ever made!maggie & apple & buzz & cha cha |

Not with mine! I usually have Annie on my lap (as I do now) when I am on the computer, and the other two at my feet. Then they like to see how many times they can get me up. (Out for a potty break, treats, come see what I am barking at out the window (nothing), I want you to chase me, can you get my toy?) So -- if I am in the house, I am never really away from mine. They are very interactive. Even when I go to the bathroom. I have a new rule of closing the door tightly behind me with them outside. But all 3 sit outside the door, fussing and occasionally paw at the door. Cooking is another time they like to try to get my full attention. They know how to distract me when they want to, no matter what I might be doing. I get a kick out of their ingenuity.

| Mostly long enough for a trip to the grocery store. Sometimes, but not very often, we have plans that we leave in the morning and come home in the evening. They are always confined in the kitchen, no matter how long we are gone. I just make sure they have plenty of food/water, and some toys. Oh, and I also lay down a pee pad, sometimes it gets used

| your all worried about how long to leave a yorkie at home, its okay we can take it. it means we can do stuff without getting caught. what about how long you can leave your human alone? i follow my human side by side together everywhere it goes and dont leave it alone for 15 minutes

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Well, I don't know about your human but mine is potty trained and can be trusted at home alone for up to two days. I do worry about him getting into stuff he shouldn't because he will eat anything he sees. I can't train him to walk on leash so I'm forced to hold his hand whenever we leave the house. |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Silly me - I just realized that was a Yorkie talking about its human. Tallulah is very picky about what she will allow me to do. If it's her idea to wander off, it's cool, but I'm not allowed to get more than 5 feet away from her. |

| I leave the house around 7:30 and get home about 4:00. My girls do fine with this schedule. I have found even when I have the day off, they find their spots and sleep all day anyway. LOL I wish I was able to not be gone so long, but it is what it is. |
