I work from home so I'm lucky to be able to not have to leave Alfie, Layla & Scooter for too long. When i do pop out I try not to be longer than 4 hours but I'm sure Alfie (yorkie 13 months and Scooter German shepherd 4yrs) would just sleep all the time. Layla (german shepherd 15 months) doesn't seem to sleep as much as the other 2 dogs.

I do believe that dogs adapt to their owner's lifestyle though. When I was a child we had a cairn terrier and both my parents worked but I was home from school about 4pm and he just seemed happy to sleep.

I'm sat at the dining table now, doing some work and they are all asleep but I know as soon as i move they will wake up and follow me, well not so much Alfie as he is snuggled up on the sofa between 2 cushions
