| Morning Routine is getting annoying I swear one of my yorkies has a stash of RedBull somewhere! My husband and I go to bed at about 9:30 p.m. At that point our two girl yorkies go in to the kennel they share and are out cold with in 10 seconds. Our boy yorkie goes in to his Kennel at the same time and sleeps until 7 a.m. (bless his heart). The girls wake up and chirp (yes, the actually chirp like a fire alarm that needs a new battery) at midnight. And then they get in bed with us. They are up and ready to party at 5 a.m.!!! They jump on our heads and then run to the bedroom door and sneeze! And will repeat this process for hours until we get up and feed them and let them out. Sometimes they will go back to bed after their 5 a.m. breakfast and bathroom and bread; sometimes the will not. They are killing me!!!! |

| LOL! I can relate. My new puppy Annie, loves to wake up early. She licks me all over my face and stands on my chest looking at me like, "come on wake up, the sun is almost up!" I know she has a small bladder so I am trying to be tolerant. I had a dachshund that used to sneeze at things to get my attention. She always went to the door and just stared at it for a while. When we did not come open, she would start the fake sneezing and I would come open the door. I actually preferred that to Ben's barking at the door. I miss my Katie -- dachshund we had for 17 1/2 years. She just passed in her sleep this past year. Candy (my Jack Russell) just stares at the door and runs to me and stares at me, then back and forth getting progressively faster. If I don't notice right away like when I am asleep, she jumps right up on me and stares me in the face, then repeats the back and forth sequence. She is 11 pounds of pure muscle and when she hits me square in the breadbasket, I wake pretty fast! She thinks she is a yorkie but she weighs over twice as much and I sure feel it! Your group sounds pretty active! I guess sleeping in is now something you dream about (but only before 5 am) They do settle more as they get older, but sometimes it is much older before you notice a difference.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hear you. Pixie wakes me up every morning at 3 to be fed. I tried ignoring her and she keeps it up until I finally gave in. Now I just get up feed them and go back to sleep. It doesn't matter what I try ie: exercise, feeding them really late, giving them a snack. If I go on vacation she does it to my dtr.

| My dude pretty well sleeps through the night well. I do free feeding with both my yorkie and lhasa apso, they do well with it and are at good weight. I did some crate trainning when I was potty trainning and after he got trained well enough I let him roam the house. He does well with this even while I'm gone at work. Far as I can tell he sleeps during the day. They do work like clock work though. He always seems to wake up the same time. Not too much a problem, just sometimes on the weekends he won't let me sleep late as Id like. His bed is next to mine in the bedroom. He can come and go potty as he pleases or snack at night. But when he does determine that he wants you up he comes to the side of the bed, barks and jumps up w his paws on my side of the bed. Maybe yours just need to have thier routines altered and just re adjust them more to the schedule you like. Hope you get some relief. But kind of a funny story. :O) |

| So funny! I thought we were the only one with this problem. I stay in a apartment complex and everyone around me goes to work at 5 and 6 a.m. Taz thinks when they get up; we get up! LoL..I usually feed him and eat a bowl a cereal myself and usually crash again before class starts. Gotta love them!

| I was always worried my dog would be an early riser...because I am NOT a morning person. But, I also heard that the dog will adapt to the owners sleeping pattern too. Fortunately, this has been the case with us. My dog has become a night owl like me and is also not a "morning person". We usually get up around 10:00-10:30. On Sunday when we have to get up earlier to go to church he will sit on the bed and give us the evil eye the entire time we are getting ready to go. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Well it is not the dogs that insist on waking us at the very latest 6am. It is our maine coone cat. He is a pure pest, if we don't get up. He starts by climbing on the bed, then walking behind our heads on the pillows. Then out comes the paw, to tap my face, then he will walk on me and knead my stomach. Oh did I mention he weighs 18 lbs! By this time, I am struggling to get him off me, and I'm up. I wade through 2 blackies hellos, and we all walk to where I feed Karma. Sometimes I can go back to bed

| Haha, sorry had to laugh, cause this is exactly why Harley has his own room. I love him to death but he could never sleep with us. His bedroom is complete with toys, beds, blankets, crate, potty, and food and water. I close his curtain before he goes to bed, and most mornings he lets me sleep until at least 7, and we close the door to our bedroom so sometimes he just squeaks once or twice and will go back to bed. This morning he ate all his food and his dish was empty by 7 and he cried bloody murder, until I got up. I hate having to close the door, but with him being an early riser and us not, it isn't much fun. Good luck with the girls.

| My girls are the same way about getting the party started, early...Apple is up, by 5, and Cha Cha follows suit...They chase each other up and down the stairs, to the bed, 'till I get up and let them out...Then Apple comes in and runs up the stairs and tossles Buzz 'till he has no choice, but to get up...I think Buzz would sleep 'till 7 or 8, if Apple would let him...Then the little tykes get breakfast @ 5:30, run around playing and chasing each other 'till about 6, and back to sleep...What'sup w/that! Now I'm awake, and it's only 6, and they're all snoozing w/full tummies |

| Sleeping Yorkies I am happy to say Jonah never wakes me in the morning. He always waits for me to make my move first, and sometimes he will even remain sleeping when I get up. I never sleep in passed 7, so I wonder if I delayed longer if he would start to fuss. I do have to admit this dog is not sedentary during the day, we walk at least 2 miles a day and he plays fetch on top of that. I think he is just so happy to get a little "shut eye", that he is not going to mess it up by waking me!

| What I did with mine when they were puppies was to have them sleep in an expen- I had blankets/ beds, food, water, and wee wee pads in there. This way I knew they had everything they needed. Then no matter how much they cried I ignored them. This way they learn they are not getting attention when they cry. I would take them out in the morning when I got up ONLY if they were quiet. Now that they are older and sleep with me, they are still quiet in the morning until I get up, if they get up early they will take a toy and lay quietly and play. |

| I guess I'm lucky with Sophie. She stays up with me (though most of the time she's asleep in my lap if it's late) and doesn't get up in the morning until I starting rubbing her and loving on her to wake her up. She will sleep to ten if I wanted to. |
