| Tell me if I am a mean mommy!! Ok, there are a few things that I am doing that I am not sure is right or not...Any advice would be greatly appreciated... When Tucker has a really hard playtime where he does alot of running and chasing us, I usually put him in his crate when we come back in so that he can get some rest, otherwise, he wants to keep playing all day..I am a stay at home mother so I am here with him all day. He sleeps in his crate at night and is on a schedule so he goes to bed at 9-9:30. I put him in his crate only when we are eating because he begs real bad and after a long hard playtime and at night. Am I leaving him in his crate to much? Also, he rarely ever wants to cuddle.. If I sit down on the floor and call him to me he just stares at me. I have to pretend like I have something in my hand to get him to come to me.. If I just pick him up then sometimes he will lay his head on my chest for a few minutes..That is rare.. Does he not like me? Will he ever be a lap dog or want to be loved on? Also, he will not eat unless I am standing where he can see me? Is this normal? Do I need to cuddle him even if he doesn't want me to? And last, he tries to eat everything...bugs, cat poop, toys, feet, leaves, clothing,EVERYTHING!!! What do I do?? I do not want him to get sick! |

| You are not a mean mommy! You are just being protective and that is OK with me! As for the cuddling, my Simon was much too busy as a baby to be snuggly! He is now 2 and is finally starting to snuggle more, he still has tons of energy! Tucker loves you, no worries about that! What yorkie wouldn't love a mommy that stays with them all day? When Simon was a puppy he would play until he fell over asleep, it was constant energy and still is somewhat! Hallie likes me to watch her eat too, he might grow out of that! And yes, they will get into EVERYTHING! They are just curious little things, it will stop. You are a good mom and Tucker loves you even if he isn't a cuddlebug yet! |

| No your not mean!!! You are taking extra special care of him. That's why he loves you so much!! Princess won't eat if I leave the room. For some reason, she wants me to watch her eat too. Can he sleep in your bed at night? I think that turns them into little love bugs!! Young babies try to eat everything they can. Even gross stuff! Yuck!!!!

| You’re obviously a very good, caring Mommy—not a mean one. As for the cuddling thing, maybe you could let him sleep with you? Because the only time Ginger likes to cuddle is when she’s tired. The rest of the time she’s too cool to let Mom baby her. And I think they grow out of eating junk off the ground so don’t worry. Ginger has eaten almost everything on your list (I don’t have a cat) and has only gotten sick once, from leaves off an indoor plant. So I would just watch out for that.

| Sounds like you are a great mom to a perfectly healthy rambunctious (sp?) Yorkie!!! I crate mine for nap time too.....just like a child....it is good for both of us!!! My 3 pups play like crazy, get to a point where they do their own thing, refuse to take a nap if they are out....and don't get upset when I put a little kibble in their individual crates and put them down for "nap time". I need it by then just as much as they do. You probably experience the same thing. You are not being mean AT ALL. |

| Happy Mommyhood Welcome to world of a furbaby mommy!!! It's just as tiring, if not more so, than raising a humanbaby (they can't walk, run, etc right off)!! You are doing a fine job and not mean....Bentley did the same thing, now he hides when he knows hes about to go into his crate and makes me feel bad!!

| How old is your sweet little Yorkie? I remember Keeley went through a "always want to play-never want to snuggle- eating everything-getting into everything" phase from about 3-5 months. I was exhausted by his antics and missed him snuggling me like he did when we got him at 10 weeks. I remember reading that 6 months was kind of a *magic* age when they become sweeties. I have found that to me true. Keeley is still a little wild child, but he also has started to snuggle LOTS more. He'll push whatever is on my lap off (even my laptop) so he can sleep on me. He doesn't have any "accidents" and is now able to sleep with me and my hubby. He listens (or I should say understands) A LOT better too. |

| No you are not a mean mommy. Mac and Mellie still have their moments but for the most part it calmed down around 6 - 7 months. They still have a tendancy to eat just about everything on your list except no cat. Mellie did eat a fly once and then got sick. (she prefers moths)

| Well I have tried putting him in the bed with us, but he will not stop playing and lay still. He constantly jumps and runs on the bed and bites at our hands to get us to play. After an hour of this I give up and put him in his crate. I have to get up at 6am every morning to get my daughter ready for school so I need to get into bed early. Plus, he is only 14wks so he still has accidents and cannot be trusted to run free.. I have been working very consistently on housebreaking but he is still messing sometimes. Usually if I am not in the room so I cannot catch him in the act. Although I think that he knows it is bad because he will sit near it when i walk back into the kitchen as if to say sorry but here it is so you don't step into it.. As for the cat, we don't have any either but the lady behind me has about 6 and they are not indoors so they are always pooping in my mulch..And preying onTucker as if he were a rabbit..The only reason that I put him in his crate is so that he will have no choice but to rest. I know that he needs plenty of rest as well as love. I just feel bad. he never barks but I still feel like crap.. It's true though, between Tucker and Kobi(my 21 month old human child) I need breaks too!!! |

| You are ANYTHING but a mean mommy! Obviously he is a very well loved little guy! Your schedule seems to be a very good one too. If he's only 14wks old then you've got a lot more "I'm too hyper to stand still for more than 4 seconds" to go! Harley is a bundle of energy X infinity and is 7 months. He definately loves you but the world is just way too much fun for him to sit still long enough to cuddle! Good luck with him!

| Oh yea and I can relate with you on the whole "eats EVERYTHING" issue.. Harley has been doing that since day one. It scares me to death all the time but thank God everything has come out (well I'm still wondering where that button is..lol) and he hasn't gotten sick from anything yet!
