Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Well maybe I was wrong... Before I go any futher... I have learned alot from being on YT and would do things alot different. But I can't so here i go...please no harsh judgement she is my pride and joy... A while back I remember posting info about Izzy and how i got her at a reduced price because of a possible inguinal hernia. Not sure how it came up but it did.. Well I had taken her to 2 different Vets on my own ...Both said they didn't feel anything and she looked good. So done.. I thought we were in the clear... Today she was laying on my lap with her belly up and i saw these "tube like shape" forming from her groin area to about half way up her nippple area.. I mean the tube like shape was in the same rows as her nipples were.. Does that make sense? So would this be a bilateral inguinal henia? I'll try to post a pictures in like 5 mins...

| I bet it is probably her femoral artery. Just guessing, since you say it is bilateral.

| If I am looking at the same spot you are, that is part of the circulatory system. It could be a vein/vessel, or it could be part of the lymphatic system. A hernia is much more bulge-like. See this pic: Inguinal, Umbilical and Diaphragmatic Hernias in Dogs

| Oh, no, wait. I think I was looking at a different area of the pic. Are you are talking about the little bulge halfway between the top set of nipples? It is kind of a white spot with no hair, I can't tell if it is a bulge or not. It is possible it could be a tiny hernia. Let your vet check it. In my previous yorkie, I found a bump that could be felt under the skin in that area, and I suspected a hernia. When she was spayed, the vet checked it so that it could be fixed at that time. It actually turned out to be -- get this -- the remnants of her umbilical cord. She had a belly button! So, it could be nothing but only your vet will know if it is a hernia or not. I hope your Izzy has a belly button.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | No.. I'm talking about if you look at the picture (where my hand is) that is going up toward her chest... below that where her nipples are in the rows where there is no hair... Both rows look really swollen going all the way down to her groin... I guess that is the best way to explain it..lol

| IMO, it does just look like a belly button- when my bambi lies in a certain way i can see and feel hers!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | To me it does look like it could be a bilateral inguinal hernia. Hard to tell from just pictures without actually feeling them though.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | The best way to discribe it it like someone put a twisler right under her nipples but softer :/

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | They are generally soft to the touch, kind of "squishy" for lack of a better word.
