| I have had enough for one night!!! Since I have been home this evening only 2 hours Chloe will not quit biting my arms it hurts bad and she even made me bleed. I have told her no probably 100 times and she doesnt listen to me. So she kept on biting my arms and I told her no and she growled at me and snapped right at my face! She has never acted like this. So I put her in time out for 1 minute in a small half bathroom and since she has been out she is being good. Any other suggestions if this does not work? |

Until last night, he was only gnawing on my fingers and I let him figuring he is cutting teeth. he learned to get on the couch last night and I was lying there. he started biting my lips, nose, cheeks and boy, when he grabs my ears it hurts. i can't stop him either. i know he is only playing but it is not fun to me. |

| It's just a stage they go through. Mine did, too. She is the sweetest little thing now you could ever want. Get some Bitter Apple spray, if you're desperate, and spray some on your hands and arms. That will surely calm them down.

| Bitter Apple Yes, I agree..spray your arms with Bitter Apple and sit there for a few minutes and let her get a mouth full. It may take a few tiems to get it imprinted in her head. I arae;y have a pup who bites at fingers and toes more then once or twice when I spray myself down....LOL As to snapping, you will need to correct her firmly and thump her nose like her mother would so if she growled at her. |

| Riley is teething too and whenever he gets hold of my fingers I take them from his mouth, tell him no and give him his Nylabone to chew on. Once you tell them no or take an innappropriate item away you have to replace it with something appropriate so they know what they can chew on. That's how we trained all of ours and it really doesn't take them long to learn what's right and wrong. Good luck with yours. |

| what broke ahia at the biting thing was for me to say "OUCH!" and she eventually stopped all together. someone on this forum suggested it a long time ago and it worked.

| Awe memories. Gus did this too. They do outgrow it. You just have to show them who's master. All I would have to do is clap my hands and and NO! I didn't have to use bitter apple for that. But it did come in handy with the chewing on the carpet or desk which he just loved to chew on while teething.

A loud "ouch" or clapping your hands works for many small dogs. For a few, though, they interpret those things as playing on your part. If that's the case, you are probably better off saying "NO!" while immediately putting her down and walking away from her while avoiding eye contact. Again, 1 minute is probably long enough. If that doesn't work, your brief time-out is great! | |
