| When will this END??!!!?? My pups eat EVERYTHING, or chew on everything or try to.......baseboards, crownmolding, dryer sheets, wallpaper, phone cords, phone jacks, carpet, shoe boxes, feathers (from pillows), paint chips (after scratching it off the wall), puppy pads after shredding them, the puppy pad holder that was supposed to prevent them from shredding the puppy pad.... door stoppers, hampers, socks. Jax has started eating poop..... They both have tons of toys but the bad stuff is more fun I guess! They both have had blood work (for other reasons) and everything was normal. The vet said this was the puppy stage and they are like babies who put everything in their mouths whether it tastes good or not....but I am going crazy!!!!! When will this end? You would think I never watch them but I swear I do and during the day, I put them in an expen. I tried locking them in the kitchen but they ate the wallpaper off the walls I don't know what else to do. My new house has quickly become a chew toy for my puppies.

| It doesn't look like they're ever going to get out of the x-pen, either! But with time they will be good doggies and won't bother with stuff so much!

| If they are under a year they are still teething and this could last for a while. Do they have something like a Nylabone to chew on? I would take away the disposable pads and use washable ones until this behavior stops...or...put them in crates and crate train them instead of using the x-pen. I don't usually recommend washable pads but if they are destroying the disposable ones you have to try something else so it's either crate training or washable pads. You might try one of the sprays for your trim and walls...something like Bitter Apple...you spray it on the spot and supposedly they leave it alone. P.S. I don't want to make light of your frustration or make a joke out of the situation but...if your pups are getting your 'crown moulding' I would say you have other, more serious issues to deal with...my crown moulding goes around the top of my rooms |

Puppies go thru a very mouthy stage - part of it is from teething, but it's also bc 'mouthing' is a big part of their socialization too. It's nice to have different kinds of chews available for pups - but keep edible ones (and even some non-edibles) available ONLY when you can be present, due to choking hazard. Have you tried re-directing them to something appropriate to chew? I did that a lot (over and over). They will move beyond this stage !

| My Boxer started to chew on wood work in the kitchen. I sprayed Bitter Apple...can be bought online or Petsmart...on the wood and he stopped. Maybe you can give it a try, it will not harm them or the wood. |

| I know it's not funny now, but soon it will be...sort of I used Bitter Apple and it worked 99% of the time My little girl, Nini, outgrew the biting, except for her toys and my bunny slippers (she wants to tear my bunny ears apart). My baby boy, Nicky...well, not yet he still gets into things like my eye-glasses, books, pens, sneakers, sleeves on my shirts, the window fan cord (while unplugged, thanks God) and he's 2 years old now. If I spray with Bitter Apple, he won't touch it unless he's very upset and wants attention. Weird thing is, Nicky won't chew my favorite stuff, like my Lindberg eye-glasses, shoes, bags or my pride and joy settee...As if he knew, that would make mommy cry Try the Bitter Apple (use gloves to apply to shoes with a cotton ball, because it stays in your hands even after washing) and another trick someone told me about; trade whatever he's chewing for a bully stick. Nini learn that the bully stick is for chewing, not my shoes. Didn't work with Nicky, though

| Now you know why trainers don't recommend getting two puppies at the same time! It's a huge amount of work, made worse by the fact that puppies are just like kids and pick up bad habits from another. Trainers recommend individual training for each puppy, separate puppy classes, and even separate crates, etc. Hopefully working with them individually will help. Two Puppies or One? - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! How old are they? If they are 6 months to a year, they are in their terrible teens. Double the trouble in your case! |

| My little guy chews EVERYTHING also! I wish it would just magically stop haha but I know he's just a puppy and I have to be patient... man it's so hard especially since he chews on me too! I pick him up to pet him and he goes straight for my fingers...sweater... pants... Whatever! I have had mild success with swapping what he's chewing with a chew toy or one of his stuffed toys. Just keep on telling myself to stay calm and know that it will pass eventually

| We had the same problem. Puppies are like young children, they do not understand until you correct them. Children would not know to not touch a hot stove but an adult would. We have noticed with our babies that they go around trying to chew EVERYTHING! They chew a toy and they get praised. They do not understand the difference between a toy and a shoe. So they try the shoe, get told no. You must catch them in the act. When you do tell them no and grab a toy and give it to them and praise them. Doing it over and over. When they get a toy on their own, praise them again. We did this all the time until they finally stopped chewing things that were not theirs. It worked really fast. Until they stop teething they will have their occasional "oops" but it will end. Its something you just have to work at all the time. For now it sounds like for their own safety you should create them while you not home. Good luck! |

| If the bitter apple spray doesn't work - it dries up quickly - try clear stick deodorant. Put that on the baseboard areas that you don't want them to chew.
