I keep telling people to stay away from these chain-store groomers. You never know what you're getting into. If I understand this correctly, they gave you your doggie, you paid them and gave her a tip, and they didn't tell you they had injured your doggie until you noticed something was wrong? You are having really bad luck with your doggie, aren't you? The last time the vet removed the wrong teeth? |

I am just sick to my stomach for your poor babies pain,I have never heard of anything like this but you can bet if ANYTHING would happen to my Satch that was irresposible on the groomers part there would be a law suit to make the front page or I would be in jail. These are our babies, we love them dearly and it is hard to entrust them to anyone ,I personally don't know the first thing about grooming so have to place trust in the one handling him. It will be a wonder if your little darling ever trusts another groomer.I am praying for you both. Please keep us up to date . |
Your poor baby! I cannot believe what I am reading! If I were you, I would first, demand back my payment and the tip. They should also pay for any and all vet fees. I would also demand they let go of that particular groomer and then come to some agreement on a settlement. This is very serious and it's by the grace of god that no other harm was set on your poor little puppy. You are not going overboard... I would be seeing red if this happened to Chewy. |

You are a better person than me. I would have been so livid I would probably be in jail. I'm so sorry about your baby. How much of her tongue was it? I hope she can still eat and drink ok. |

Oh I feel so bad for both of you? Is she acting ok ? How did they stop the bleeding. I have always used a groomer fro my past yorkies and current pom who I really trusted and she is starting to phase out of the business so I have been looking for a new groomer for Cali. I have been to afraid to take her yet. I did go into one of the pet----- chains and they happened to be grooming a yorkie puppy so i stood and watched to my horror they had this poor baby on the noose and it was dangling around and screaming and the slipped off the table and the girl barely caught her. I knew I would never go there! I have visited a couple of groomers and asked questions and I found one who has been grooming for 17 years used to own and show Yorkies. She said she would not use the noose, would only keep her for no longer than an hour and not put ther in a cage . So i am trying to get the nerve up to make an appointment. Now I am afraid again. I hope she is ok. definately pursue this |
This is so terrible!!!! I am so wary of taking Copper anyplace for grooming. I have seriously considered buying a video or something and doing it myslef. I have done everything so far except for clipping the nails and doing inside the ears and pads of feet. Petco also hurt Copper when he was a puppy. They cut his nail too short...really bad...and it was bleeding when I left. I will never take him back there. Now I take him to the vet to get his nails clipped. I hope your baby gets better soon. It hurts to even think about it. |
no way should they have charged you for that service!! your poor baby. i would definitley submit my vet bill to them and if they are a caring business, they will gladly pay it. if not....i'd never give them any more patronage and i would not recommend them to anyone! i hope your baby is ok. |

Did they tell you or did you find out on your own? How horrid! |
I’m sorry so to hear about your baby. I really hope she’s okay. I can’t imagine how you must feel. I cannot believe those idiots! Then they had the nerve to CHARGE you for what they did!? You were probably too shocked and concerned for your baby at the time to do anything, but I hope your lawyer comes through with a big can-O whoop a**. |
OMG! how in the world did they cut her tongue? They had to know about it and then not to tell you and to charge you on top of it! It sounds like the groomer was picking or teasing your dog to to have had the scissors so close in front of the face to get the tongue to begin with and if it was an accident - why didn't they pull away? That would be my first reaction! If it had been theirs - they wouldn't have gotten her tongue. Sounds like a simple lawsuit. They will settle before it goes to court due to cost and especially when they know they were in the wrong. Normally I would be the nice one and say forget about it - but for them (groomer) to know she didn;t and not say anything first! Wrong!! I hope your baby gets better. :( T. |
What in the %$#??!!! You need to stop payment on that check and ask for a refund immediately. I can't believe that they accepted it at all. And girl you must have been delirious to give them a tip too  Do NOT go to the vet that they recommend. Get your own (and not the one that takes out the wrong teeth either!) specialty vet. This is negligence of the highest order. I am sorry that you are going through this, but please, please stay away from the bootleg groomers that are usually found at Petco & Petsmart. Poor little baby....I'm praying that all turns out well for him. |
Oh my!!!! Poor little baby!!!! I would take her to your vet today. Why would anyone make her wait? Keep track of all your bills, your lawyer will be able to get all your money back. Is she in pain? How old is she? Good thing it wasn't Princess, everyone in the store would have known what they did. I hope she will be Ok. I'd have her checked out. She can't tell you she's hurt, take her to your vet, or at LEAST call your vet to see what they say.. Please let us know! We will keep your baby in our thoughts & Prayers. :lovewings |
Trust me, I would be very very upset and probaby feel the same way. However, I would suggest the following: 1) You shouldn't have paid - get your money back 2) Go to YOUR vet (tell the Petco Manager in advance) and have in writing that they will pay for the bill and for any problems that occur due to their wrong doing 3) If the Petco Manager doesn't sign something, tell him you would like to have the Director or CEO's direct line or you will contact a lawyer Since I am in Human Resources and deal with these type of things (more with people than dogs!) I think this is the professional way to handle it rather than going straight to a lawyer. Just my take on it, sorry if you do not agree. Please keep us updated. Be careful not to waste your money on lawyer fees if they will resolve it in a professonal manner. Make sure everything is in writing!! That is key... |
