I tend to agree that she will be fine, but as we plan on taking some all day hikes I want to be ready if she gets too tired to keep walking. She is a little on the small side at 3.8 lbs. and a 5-6 mile hike may a bit much since she isn't used to the mountain terrain. This site is great for getting good advice of all types. Thank you everyone. | |

![]() If I'm in the city, I use my Kwigy Bo Alex, but if I was hiking, I would take my Outward Hound sling that people here have recommended. Good luck! I don't blame you for wanting to be prepared for the worst.

| ![]() When Phoebe was a pup, I just to hike with her and hubby, and they do get tired, and because she has lots of coat, she will pick up lots of stuff, so I do agree with you a carrier will be great, like a front pack or sling ![]() ![]()

No Longer a Member | ![]() Yeah, definetly bring some clippers of some sort, these guys' fur picks up everything, I had to pull burs out of Rizzo's face after the second hike...talk about stressful. Then I had to cut a few that got caught on his feet during the hike, once I cut them off he was off running again. |
