I agree with you It does not hurt you to be prepared. I also have a 3.8 lber that I carry when I feel she gets too tired. My 7 lber however, will walk forever!

If I'm in the city, I use my Kwigy Bo Alex, but if I was hiking, I would take my Outward Hound sling that people here have recommended.

Good luck! I don't blame you for wanting to be prepared for the worst.
