| Mabel got me a present! This morning I slept in...Hubby got up with the kid's and let Mabel outside. A few hours later as I was soundly and blissfully snoozing all snuggled up in my bed along comes Mabel jumping on me and rooting and sniffing around my body. So I realize she's after her squeaky critter that i am obviously lying on. I roll over to retrieve it but instead of coming up with her crazy critter fox... I'm holding a...limp, bloody...DEAD SQUIRREL!!! OMG! How long have I been lolling around the bed with a corpse!!!? EEEEWWW!!! That dog put it in my bed!! I am still a little freaked out! I have soaked the sheets in bleach and used the upholsrey attachment on my carpet steamer on the mattress. I still might throw the sheets away!

| Isn't it LOVELY? Luckily neither of my boys have brought me anything yet, but I used to have a kitty that brought DH and myself "gifts" ( both dead AND barely alive! ) all the time. I'll bet I took at least six or seven critters to the wildlife rehabber within a couple years time! Puff was a hunter and was quite put out if we didn't make a big deal out of his "presants " to us! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | You should be proud! She was just doing what terriers are supposed to do, wasn't she? But I would have freaked out, too. Years ago I had a pair of dogs that delighted in bringing me dead possums. And one time a dying baby possum. The first time, I called my dad for help and stood on the sofa till he removed it. By about the fifth or sixth time, I just kept a shovel and a garbage bag on the back porch and took care of it myself. |

| I have a troup of outside cats that do this ALL THE TIME. They leave dead and dying birds, rabits, mice, moles, voles and opposums. You name it, they've brought it. I'm pretty sure I even stepped on one (or six) of them. It's nasty. They've never brought one into the house because they don't come in the house, but... Still.. I stepped on it. Ew.

| I would just freak! I think I'd have nightmares over something like that. I'm really squeamish and get sick if I see a dead animal at the side of the road. |

| Ewww - it must have felt like you were in a horror show. So far Darwin and our little Mabel haven't brought me presents - hmm, maybe I should be a bit hurt. Good luck with cleaning your sheets! |

| How funny, she was excited for her catch and you were excited with your find. I don't even know what I would have done. |

| EWWWW!!!! I would have absolutely freaked. I'd throw away the sheets, give away the mattress, brush Mabel's teeth and shower 'till I couldn't feel my skin. Just the thought of it makes me shiver....excuse me while I go shower . Sweet dreams tonight Kim !!

| I have thrown the sheets away!!! Mabel has had a bath(me too, a really hot one!) The mattress i must keep as it is a very expensive sleep number bed! I scoured it with oxyclean and hot water! The poor pitiful creature was not really very bloody and did not ooze on the mattress...Thank God for small favors!! Still it has freaked me out none the less. I keep forgetting that Miss Mabel is really a cold, cunning, rodent hunter!( just one with a really cute fury face!!) What I really wonder is how she got that squirrel in the house and up the stairs past my hubby!? What am I saying he has "man vision" which means he wouldn't notice if she had drug a moose into the house!!! Once I had flamming red hair(dyed from brown) and he didn't notice it for 3 days!!!
