I have a troup of outside cats that do this ALL THE TIME. They leave dead and dying birds, rabits, mice, moles, voles and opposums. You name it, they've brought it. I'm pretty sure I even stepped on one (or six) of them. It's nasty.
They've never brought one into the house because they don't come in the house, but... Still.. I stepped on it. Ew.
