I have to travel out of state to spend time with my grandchildren to. Still more problems I have to say they have 2 outside dogs so it isn't that they don't like dogs just not little dogs. What I came up with after a lot of stressed out conversations was my pup would come with me and stay in a portable crate that worked out great that has a bottom vinyl leak poof bottom with the pee pads in it and I would take it out right after she went. They agreed and in the end they loved Charm and they were surprised by how well potty trained she was and how well behaved. In the end she was able to play supervised outside the crate and won them over with her little kissy face. My grandchildren had such a great time with Charm she even won over my son in law and daughter. Today I heard I got a new granddog a pug named Joey ha ha.

Well, my daughter came here at the end of June for a few days and she said she fell in love with Abby and if it were just her, she wouldn't care but her husband has the problem with her. We were allowed to go several times with her but he just does not like dogs in the house. We even had our designated place for her in the lowest level in the house (the basement) but he just doesn't like her. His loss!

If I lived closer I'd take her. My dad died just before Christmas last year and I have no desire or reason to celebrate the holidays anymore and have therefore offered to take my friends Yorkies, April and Ripley if they choose to go away at Christmas. Did it before I had Teegy so it will be super excellent for him to have friends over for a few days. I'll put my James Bond jet pack on and come and get Abigail.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Dad died on Dec. 23, 1997 and he LOVED Christmas...he and I always decorated the house each year when I lived at home and one of my fondest memories is of the two of us going out in search for the perfect Christmas trees each year. We would go up and down the highway and check out every Christmas tree place and usually end up back at the first place we stopped. I bought him a Christmas necktie and pocket hanky and we chose a Christmas themed spray for the casket. It was difficult but I believe my Daddy spent the most glorious first Christmas in heaven that year and Christmas is still very special to me. You are sweet to keep your friends' Yorkies so they can go visit their family but I will pray that the joy of Christmas will enter your heart again!

Here is a last resort idea. I just left a work assignment in Hopkinsville, KY a few months ago. I lived there for a year. (Hopkinsville is about an hour away from Nashville.) While I was there, I made friends with the owners of Cricketts daycare.

Don and Michelle are absolutely the BEST doggie daycare people I have ever met and spoiled Crickett rotten. In fact they ruined me for all other daycares. Their rates were outrageously low ($10 a day for a normal day, I'm sure a bit higher for holidays.) Their staff comes in several times a day if they happened to be closed. In fact my niece ended up working there after Crickett started going. I I know how careful they are with their pets.

You could drop Abbey off during the day and pick her up in the evening. Send me a PM if you would like to know the name, number or website. You could even give Michelle a call and see what type of arrangement you could make. She goes out of her way for all pets and even volunteers at the local shelters several days a week.
