| Late Response I'm new to the forum and my nugget Nylah was also 6 weeks when the breeder asked me to come get her. She'll be 7 weeks Saturday 02.24.2018... both parents are full yorkie, I just keep wondering if she'll ever fluff up... |

As a foot not, the person you got lil Nugget from is not a breeder, or perhaps a back yard breeder more likely, no responsible "breeder" would let a puppy go at 6 weeks. In most states it is against the law to sell puppies that are under 8 weeks old.

Also, there is a puppy lemon law that if the breeder misrepresents the health or breed of the dog, as certified by a veterinarian, the puppy can be returned for a full refund. See: Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine The puppy looks like a terrier mix of some kind, but not a Yorkie. If it were me, I would call the police and try to have this breeder shut down.

| Your little Nylah is an adorable little peanut! The breeder definitely should not have separated her from her mother until she was at least 12 weeks old. What was the reason she wanted you to take her so young? To me, she looks like a Yorkie puppy, albeit one very young that needs time to grow out her coat. |

Okay. Now that you have Nylah at a young and vulnerable age, you will have to be her mother for the next few critical weeks. Please try to be around her as much as possible, nurture her, and show her plenty of love and affection--that's what she will be missing from her mother. Be sure to take her to the vet and have her checked out if you haven't done so already, and let them know her age so they can help you with suggestions for keeping her healthy during the next few critical weeks. Be aware of the signs of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) such as trembling, fainting, and pale gums, and have some Karo corn syrup (or Nutri-cal) on hand so you can rub a little on her gums if she shows any symptoms. Your vet will be able to instruct you on the proper amount to use (you want to use enough, but you don't want to overdo it). Learn the phone number and location of your nearest 24 hour emergency vet in case Nylah runs into any problems outside of your vet's regular office hours. And please continue to take and post plenty of pictures of Nylah as she gets older . It's possible she could be a pure bred Yorkie at a very young age. We'll be able to tell you better as she gets older. And even if she isn't a pure bred, she's still an honorary Yorkie on Yorkietalk, and we will continue to help answer your questions and share in your joy as she grows up.
