$8500 for a yorkie!?! WHAT IN HEAVENS NAME!

I am just flabergasted! Are there really folks who will pay $8500 for a dog? I'm serious...does this really happen? Well, my Mabel was a super-duper bargain at $850! I,myself could never justify paying almost $10,000 for a pet! Ludicrous! Lord...what I could do with $8500!! Unbeliveable!!!

I have nothing to say because yall all said everything that came to mind. I really need to know what Qualitifies a dog to cost that much?

IT must can rap and sing..... speak english and help out with some of the chores around the house. The Breeder must be paying the vet bill for the next ten years cause after you buy it there is no money left LOL! WHAT A CROCK of %^$#

I don't have time to read all of the posts ... so forgive me if this was covered? Either I didn't see it on those websites, or simply overlooked any mention of Pedigree? I love researching Pedigree's and would go back to "creation" researching before I would consider paying that for a puppy! Not that a pedigree is necessarily that important, but I wanted to know everything I could about Toto's bloodline for genetics, etc. She has an excellent pedigree and I thank God every day for our truthful breeder and my healthy, happy little girl. You would think if someone had the nerve to price their pups like that they would proudly show pictures, pedigree's, etc. of their sire and dam? All the pups had that look in their eyes that I have seen in so many rescue babies ... it is a scared, distrusting look. Also, what the heck is an "Applehead" Yorkie?? That's the first time I have ever heard that term used in reference to a Yorkie.

DId anyone else notice that their eyes looked a little weird like spaced far apart. ALmost close to like how a pug looks. Listen they are absolutely breathe taking and i don't know if something is really wrong with their eyes or are my eyes still bugging off of the extra 0 in the 8500.

Lol, my $1500 pup helps out with chores, he "dusts the floors under the furniture" and of course I have to mention he bathes me everyday He finds all of my dirty underwear and socks so I remember to put them in the wash, and he always lets me know when the cat box needs cleaning. Who could ask for more help around the house?

The description says

Champion bloodlines: No Champion sired: No

So, not even any sort of champion - oh except for this:

Firebrand’s Baron Von Gold is her Great Great Grandfather CH Bloodline

So way back in her bloodline she had a champion GGGrandfather.
And just because the GGGrandfather was a champion doesn't mean diddly squat.

They sell their puppies between $2,000 and $3,000

So, $8,500 just because it has a GGGrandfather who was a champion is just plain outrageous.

Yep. It must be able to do all that and clean the house; play in a band; star in a TV show; walk the other dogs; help with the bills; wash the car; grocery shop; weed the garden and run errands. That's the ONLY way I would consider paying such a sum.

I might consider paying that much for a Ch. stud, but no way would I pay that much for an undersized dog.

Those tiny dogs have way too many health issues. I have two tiny ones that I wish were at least 2 pounds more. The people that buy those tiny ones are totally clueless as to the problems they can have.

They don't want a dog, they want an accessory to carry around for attention.

Oh, my! That is simply outrageous. I figured it was just a typo & perhaps it was really $850...but the pup is advertised on her website for $8500 as well. I'm interested to see if this pup actually sells for that amount...

A pedigree is very important when breeding. A good breeder can recite it backwards and forwards.....identifying every dog within that pedigree, over all structure and health.

Applehead is not a new term, however, breeding for this is incorrect. Applehead discribes a dome head.

Another person attempting to capitlize on the work put forth by others.

Listing Champion sired on a pedigree can mean many things. However, most use it as an advertising ploy.

I love my Yorkie, but would NEVER pay that much. This one is some sort of champion bloodline but in the long and short of it...does it really matter THAT much? And is it worth paying half of a car for?

WOW!!! So does that pooch come with a dog house, a live in nanny, and all the other amenities? That is just soooooooooo sad! What is even more absurd is the addtional shipping fee! UGH!!!!
