| ![]() Wow. I just linked to a page entitled "For the Love of Mia" where apparently she's raising money to get this dog vet care. Bosh! If she loved that little dog but couldn't afford it's vet care, she would have long ago surrendered it to rescue & it would already have its treatment. Holding a dog's critical care hostage for money isn't love. She's not putting that little dog first - she's only thinking of herself and what she wants, feeding off all the drama & attention, if this isn't a total scam. Watching a dog suffer daily when it needs immediate care & not surrendering it to someone who could care for it doesn't even remotely approach love. But with her record, I am doubting this situation is even real.

| ![]() I have tried very hard to avoid posting on this thread, I will post this one suggestion and maybe it can be passed along to her. I am from the same area of Michigan as this lady who owns Mia (I will note I moved years ago). The obvious suggestion would be for her to get Mia into the Veterinary School at Michigan State University. MSU is less than one hour from where she resides, I am sure she could reach out to them. My understanding MSU has one of the best Veterinary Schools in the country, I know many people who have had their animals large and small treated at MSU and they have always had the best results from kind and caring professionals. I would hope this had been suggested to her by her Vet, friends, family or neighbor but I thought I would put this out and if someone who knows her is reading this thread they could suggest it. I will continue to pray for little Mia and hope her owner finds it in her heart to do the right thing for this little girl (and to stop breeding, but this my personal opinion and does not benefit helping this sweet little puppy).

| ![]() That person you are talking about does not belong to an organization that deals with AAI. She is just a pet owner who is on a Yahoo group that is about AAI.

| ![]() I think if this pup does end up being treated in MI, the neuro that has the case now is the very best. MSU is a great vet school. I don't think they have a neuro on staff. Pretty sure they have to bring one in for these cases. last I knew there were only three BC neuros in Michigan. Two of them are at Dogwood. Thinking about this pup. ![]()

I swear to gosh I've never saw so many people who represent themselves as one thing and really aren't....just reread some posts and saw where it was declared by that their "foundation"...blah, blah, blah, well turns out not to be a"foundation" in the next post, innerestinnnnngggg... (only after called on it)...I know the internet is like that but geesh, give me a break already. Wannabes make me crazy...I wannabe a well educated animal lover, pet owner and advocate for the pups, as best as I can be....thats all I want....its all about paying it forward folks, not how others view you and definitely not how big your ego is... Thanks LJ for clarifying that for us... (omg, I'm a hot mess huh?)

| ![]() I was not trying to say that they are not honorable people; but to be perfectly honest, I think it did come off to strangers that they were coming from an organizational standpoint when they are simply people who have gotten together on a Yahoo group. If I were a pet owner and had a sick pup I could not care for, I would rather that people like that pointed me in the right direction rather than asking me to give my pup to them. Perhaps they have the pup's best interest in mind, but so do many, many other people... Sadly, I seriously doubt anyone will get this pup, IF she is indeed real. I am kind of wondering myself...this woman has an awful lot of catastrophes related to breeding.

| ![]() I try not to post to much on this thread either. Sometimes it is best to walk away. BUT I can't hold this in any longer! If I get a dog it is because I can afford that dog. I am just saying, if it was one of my pups and I didn't have the money I would be putting the vet bill on my credit card, applying for any credit the vet has, selling anything I could, etc. I would DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to get my pet cared for. I would not be asking for donations. If I couldn't afford the care then I would turn the dog over to someone who could get it the care it needs. To me this is cut and dry. If she can't pay for it, she needs to surrender the pup to a rescue or something. Letting the poor thing suffer is just NOT ACCEPTABLE. No excuses period. As far as I am concerned, she is being selfish and not doing what needs to be done! ![]() ![]() ![]() Ladyjane, wasn't there a lady here one time who had a pup that she couldn't afford care for? If I remember she turned her pup over to you. She was very upset and loved the pup but DID WHAT WAS BEST FOR THE PUP!! That is what this really boils down to - doing what is best for this pup!!!

| ![]() Again, I say, Bosh. If she really loved that dog & put its well-being first & not what she wants, it would already have had its treatment & any surgery & be recuperating. Her "attachment" & feelings should be secondary to putting treatment for its pain & disability first & foremost. Where is her empathy for that dog & what it is going through as it waits? What is its quality of life like? That dog getting well & not her feelings are what should matter & only that. If what I have read about her is half true with so many tales of woe trailing after her and who treats animals as she does, breeding those tinies to tinies literally for years - that person can't really love any of them. Apparently what she really loves is all the drama surrounding this poor little baby's situation way more than she could ever dream of loving it. Poor little dog.
