In order for any contributions to be tax deductible, she would have to set up a 501(c) foundation. That requires paperwork and legal help, maybe about $500 in costs, and the IRS has to approve it. It isn't that easy: How to Start a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization: 13 steps

I would think that there are many potential problems with claiming that a donation is tax deductible when it isn't ... such as fraud committed not only against those that donated, but also federal matters, like IRS fraud, wire fraud, etc.

Yes, I will always speak for the pups...always! I will also, if necessary, speak up about bad breeding practices. I don't allow breeders to get me in that frame of mind that I must be nice to them. That is a ploy that many of the millers use...if you are nice to me I will surrender pups to you. I see a lot of people doing that...all it does is enable those POS breeders to continue on with their awful practices.
I am not on a campaign to go after breeders and I don't believe that all breeders are bad.......I have my hands very full saving pups...but I am also not going to be muzzled if I feel my voice might help to shut down a bad situation.

Unfortunately, I was an acquaintance of Tanisha's only because I had joined her page on FB with that being said I stood up to her the other day and told her what she was doing is wrong (and obviously she threw the "F" word around and then hung up on me). If you can't afford to take care of your dogs you have no business bringing more into the world and asking others to pay your bill. Especially when your on gov't assistance and owe money to the IRS. With that being said, we all can sit her and continue to be upset, or we can take action and do something. Lets come up with some good solutions to this situation. Maybe if we can work as a team we can help this pup. I know that she has been giving it Tramadol and I told that was very hard on people let alone dogs and she said "I know when I give it to her she drools"...I told her to stop giving it to her! SO...lets work as a team and come up with some good solutions to help end this wreckless breeder!

so I posted this information about her being an unethical breeder and a person I have not met in my meetup group has gone off on a tangent as she went to detroit and stayed with her and she is lovely and wah wah wah.
So I'm now taking it in the you know what for this and I actually don't care.
my co members and breeder friends are grateful for the information.

This other person just doesn't get it and I have a funny feeling she is the owner of teeny weeny dogs herself

That must be Coco, we all thought it was very odd. She flew in for one meetup and did not have a dog, she acted like they were great long time friends, then we found out later they had never met in person before. From what I heard she now has a dog, but I don't believe it came from Tanisha. I saw Coco post on FB a photo of a $500.00 check she has sent her. She is at the moment definitely a believer.

I sent Tanisha a long polite email and explained how I felt she was not in a position to be breeding and that I could no longer put aside my principles against her breeding practices to attend meetups. I suggested she surrender Mia to someone that would be better able to deal with her. She sent me back a short polite reply, that she did not have to explain herself, that we have had these heart to hearts before and that some of my information was flawed. I have also messaged several people in the group, most feel as I do, but some of them still feel sorry for the dog and want to help because of that. I even managed to track down a few phone numbers for some people I never met but that have been very vocal and active in their support on FB, lets say while they are not going to be deserting the dog, it was a wake up call for them and will be approaching things differently. I think Tanisha will someone manage to get the dog the help it needs but I don't feel good about Mia recovering in her home, I have found out that the initial injury was caused by something her son did with the puppy (not exactly what, I have heard a few versions) and I have also been told that the middle son has been doing things like hiding the puppies behind things. Now she is locking the doors to all her rooms, which must be a hard way to live. I remember when I bought some of my past puppies from good breeders they would generally not sell yorkies to families with children under the age of about 8 or 10, and here Tanisha has two boys under the age of 5 or 6. I am also going to look into the ordinances in her county on the amount of dogs one can own, I am assuming she is over the limit, that might be the only approach because none of the agencies like the SPCA or Humane Society are able to help.

I'm glad you said something Donna. This woman has a screw lose. It's amazing about how the truth comes out about this pup's injury.

I can't stand her, but that doesn't mean I don't want to help this pup. Poor little thing has no choice in the matter. It's sickening. This woman needs to get her priories straight, and knock off this sick obsession. I guess it's mind boggling to me. She claims to have no money for vet care, yet I'm pretty sure when I met her, she had on silver jeans ($100 a pair), and jewelry up the wazoo.

I'm reading this about this little dog Mia today & haven't read all of the posts but from all the things I have heard about this unethical person, I would put nothing past her, including misrepresenting the truth of the situation. I take it she has a sick or injured dog & she is asking for monetary assistance for it - it that correct? Has anyone ever actually seen this sick/injured dog in the flesh & seen vet reports stating it really is in need of the care she says it needs? And if she gets the money from dog lovers here & on Facebook, how do you know she would spend it on that dog's vet care? If she is as terrible as is represented here & really uses dogs to get money, what would stop her from selling the dog & pocketing the money?
