You are absolutely correct! This dog was running around and she went upstairs to get something out of her bedroom and left the pup unattended with a 2yr old and a destructive 4yr old, and she claims that her son dropped a chair on her leg and broke it and now this problems has been created from the traumatic injury. I was told that by her, now by another source I was told that the pup was thrown. THis would NOT surprise me because her oldest son is a tyrant and when the pup was a baby (eyes closed) he would remove the pups and hide them around the house especially this dog, hence the reason why she had to have locks put on the door.

Wow! If she would sell those rings on her finger & that video camera, she could pay some vet bills. Poor little dog.

If the dog really is ill(still skeptical) & not temporarily disabled with Lidocaine injected into its major joints, things like that, when it finally does die or Animal Control seizes it for neglect/depraved indifference or something, she will no doubt come up with another scheme for money & attention.

I'll bet she avidly reads posts about herself daily here. A drama addict loves attention & the more riled they can get people, the better they like it.

She isn't going to give the pup up shes had too many opportunities to do so...in fact, she had a deposit on the dog when she was asking $5500.00 for a lady had given her $1500.00, and she refunded the deposit after a month she decided that she was "too attached" the reason she's doing this is one word DRAMA! She thrives off it! Its sick, but I believe she's narsacisstic, extremely immature and needs to be reported before another animal gets hurt.
She can afford to make payments to her friend regarding her newest pup Bently that she just got 3 weeks, then she should pay her own vet bills!

Maybe if we ALL called the police department, animal control, IRS, and where she collects food stamps this would come to an end!

Well first, and I felt like Jodi while doing this, I had to find her address because it's not posted on her website. So that took a little bit, but once I did I google mapped it because on her website she has a picture of her house and I wanted to make sure it was the right house.

The guy on the phone didn't sound like he took me serious, but then I mentioned that she's trying to solicit money for this dog and claim it to be a "charity" fundraiser it sounded like he started to perk up. He told me that they'd run her name, stop by, and if something doesn't seem quite right, they'd start an investigation.
My exact words were, "You know this may not seem like a tough criminal, or something to waste your time on. But I know that in many cases, those who abuse animal have additional law breaking tendencies and in fact it was Jeffery Dahmer who started the research into linking animal cruelty to compulsive behavior..."

Maybe if a bunch of us called and complained and let them know about the videos on utube asking for donations and money they might go over there...what about calling DSS and the humane society?

Taryn, do you know if anyone ever called Animal Control to investigate this dog's lack of needed medical treatment or find out if the story is true? This dog's responses on either video could be real or reproduced by Lidocaine injections into the joints to affect gait or inner ear to affect vestibular response or even oral medication if this woman has Munchausen-by-proxy. I can't believe someone in or near her city in Michigan hasn't called them about her once the Mia story started so I wonder what ever came of it.

I sure hope the police took you seriously. Probably they are so busy with human-on-human crime, they don't have much time for poor little dogs but maybe an Assistant D.A. fresh out of law school who loves dogs in that city might.

I'm going to be contact my local human society, I'm friends with a few people who work there, and see if there's anything else that can be done. Next step would be getting them or animal control involved.

Thank you. I wish I lived in Michigan and had some standing in this. If you do contact Animal Control, please let us know what Animal Control says since they are probably the ones with jurisdiction/oversight that maybe can have the most immediate effect on the little dog. It needs to be immediately protected from her if she is letting it suffer or causing its suffering.

I let the police know the location and time that she is having the "fund raiser".
Like I said, I can't sit on my hands any longer and hope that someone else does something. Have to at least try.

Thank you more than I can say. As a tax-paying citizen of her state, you can more effectively speak to one of your tax funded agencies & demand some action. I think Jackson Animal Control is probably going to be the most effective tool in dealing with the cruelty/neglect aspect here, though, not the police department. If the police do nothing, would you report her to them if I looked up their phone number for you?
