| dont trust nobody... i left my furbaby at a sitter house which i know for a while now she alway's take care of my furbaby when i need to go out of town it was a family emergency so i need to go out of town for a couple of days.and i couldn't take my baby with me. i left the sitter a list of due's and dont like i alway's do.i took my furbaby's bed, toy's and his food and one of my t-shirts i didn't want him to miss me too much lol i love my baby.i only stood out of town for three day's only.when i went to get my baby he was almost bold i started screaming i asked the sitter what happend to my baby's hair.!!!! and she told me that her 8yr old son put gum on my baby's hair and that it was so bad that the only thing came to mind was to cut it off. i couldn't believe what i was hearing i was livid and she have the nerve to tell me hey kids will be kids i wanted to slap her so i kept it cool .and i told her i understand that but he's not a toddler he's a big boy and he should know right from wrong..i told her she lost all my trust and that she lost a good customer..so i graved my furbaby and left... |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Accidents do happen, but she could have taken your dog to a groomer who would have known how to get the gum out without cutting all the hair off. (I thought all mom's knew how to remove gum from hair.) So sorry this happened to you, I don't think I kids and Yorkies are a great mix. Perhaps next time you need to travel you can find someone without young children. Hope your baby isn't too traumatized by the new haircut.

| I'm sorry that happened to your baby Honestly, I'd just be SO glad that it was only his hair that got ruined, sounds to me like that kid has no supervision and it could have been an "accidental" leg break or crushing injury His hair will grow back, thankfully, and he's home with you now, thank goodness. That sitter needs to rethink her parenting, or lack thereof!

| I have to agree that thankfully it is only his hair! This woman has no business pet sitting if there is no safe place for her "clients". Your little one's hair will grow back but in the meantime you should find out a place where if you need to board him for an emergency or you will have to take him with you. |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Im sorry this happend to your baby I dont know how old the child is, if he is just young its understandable but if he is older then your right he should know better. And so should his mother if this is her business, they will have dogs around the house alot and she should teach her kids how to treat a dog. But lets calm down.. its only hair and it will grow back. Accidents happen and we learn from them, just dont leave your pup with this person again. I agree that she should have called to tell you and ask what you would like her to do first though.

| That terrible - if I remember correctly from when my kids were young - my youngest is in her 30's now - peanut butter helps in removing gum from hair. Last October we left Lil Bit and Beamer at a "preppy pets suite" while we went on our cruise. They were supposed to groom them before we picked them up, shaving Lil Bit down and just bathing Beamer. When we came back from the cruise, Bruce went to pick them up. I was horrified. They had shaved Beamer down and just bathed Lil Bit. The guy apologized, said his wife had got them mixed up. But, Beamer's coat grew back - although it did take a few months. But I will never take them to that place again for boarding.

| She said the child was 8 years old - old enough to know better!

| Count your blessings I give 2 thumbs up to the replies here. I understand you're upset but it could have been a lot worse. Be thankful for that. I wish you luck in finding a better sitter should you need to go out of town again. |

| I'm sorry, that's terrible! 8 year old kid should know WAY better. My 6 year old brother doesn't even pull crap like that.

| She should have called. She didn't have the right to make that choice in my opinion. I would have been upset too. And if I read correctly, the child was an 8 year old?? He knew not to put gum in the dog's hair. He should have known better. I am so sorry this happened to you and your baby.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Maybe I'm viewing this from a slightly different perspective, but it's only hair, it will grow back. Granted, the pet sitter should have called you and asked you if she could shave your boy down. But in the scheme of things, it could have been a lot worse. Was this a pet sitter who came to your house or did you take your furbutt to her home? If she came to you, then perhaps next time you can specify that no one except the sitter is allowed in your home.

| Wow! I'm so sorry this happened to your baby In my opinion, there is NO excuse for this happening, it was a preventable accident. If she was taking proper care of your baby, she would not have let her 8 year old put gum on his hair, Or she should not have left him alone with your furbaby And she should have called you to ask what to do when the gum was in there. Thankfully, his hair will grow back, and it is a blessing that nothing worse happened. Hoping you find a better sitter that you can trust. Have you thought of having a family member stay at your house with your baby when you are gone for awhile?
