| The first time you saw/met your yorkie... Any one care to share stories about the first time they saw/ met their babies? The second I saw Bilbo at the shelter I knew I had to take him home with me. I wasnt even there to look at dogs, as my boyfriend (whom I live with) had just adopted a sweet senior dog (also happens to now be Bilbo's best doggie buddy). It wasnt just how cute he was, it was that every time I tried to leave his pen he would cry! It made me so sad for him. My boyfriend convinced me to think about it overnight. When we came back the next morning, I swear Bilbo instantly recognized me! I was super convinced that it was meant to be : )

| My Apple was the smallest Yorkie in the room, but she kept getting the one toy available, from all the other Yorkies and kept bringing it to me...I went to get a little boy, and came home w/Apple...When I went to the breeders house, to see Buzz, it was a long drive, and I had to gooooooooo when I got there...The 4 Yorkie pups were all running around, and I asked to use the facilities, and Buzz just ran right in after me...No time to get him out, so we just talked for a minute or two, and I decided it was going to be him...Then a few distractions w/his siblings, and I almost didn't get him...Oh wow, the thought of not having Buzz is too much to think about...He's a perfect little boy for me, and perfect little brother for Apple... |

| It was a LONG 4 hour drive after a nasty snow storm! I knew I wanted him before I got there, and as soon as I walked in, he would not leave me alone! He ignored ALL the other people there and just kept licking and snuggling me. I knew it was right! We didn't take him that day, so it was a long four hours back. Then two weeks from then we finally got to take him home |

| Great topic! When I picked up Max, I was trying so hard not to cry tears of joy, and I was completely in awe of all of the adult Yorkies in the house. I didn't even notice Max in the xpen. When our breeder handed him to me, I was thinking, "What is this?" It wasn't until we were on the road that I finally came to and realized, this is my baby boy! When we picked up Teddy, we were waiting in a hotel lobby, holding our breath every time the door opened. Finally, our breeder walked in and there was our little darling. I fell in love instantly and wanted to hug him and love him, but I stood back and remained quiet while he checked out his brother Max. |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Well she was my birthday present from my boyfriend. I had wanted a puppy for a long time and he told me to pick one from the litter. Poppy was the runt and when I first saw her she was being pushed out of the way of feeding by her brothers and sister.... I felt instant love for her and she has the most gorgeous little face which just melts your heart, I knew she was the one

| Picking up all of my babies was a wonderful moment, but I guess Bentley's was the most memorable. His daddy was with him and was super sweet just like his son. I was sitting on the ground loving on Bentley and Amanda (breeder) yells "NO"! Well I look down and Bentley's daddy is marking me. I guess that meant I was good enough for his little boy. LOL

| I had wanted a dog for years, so when we were making the drive out to the breeder's place, I didn't have my hopes up that I was coming home with a puppy. I thought I'd look, and then my husband would say thanks, time to go. But when they brought in Wall-e, my husband held him first, and you could see his personality! That was it - we were in love! He latched onto my finger and kind of sucked on it for a while. We put him down and he ran around the room, playing with us and the breeder. He was soooo tiny when we stood up, he looked straight up at us as if to say, "well, let's go!" The breeder cried when we left with him, he had been her favorite. I was so glad to finally have my Wall-e!

| Each one of my dogs that I've brought home I knew they were mine from the start. It was a feeling and I haven't been wrong. I bought my male when he was a quivering 7 months old, and my female when she was 8 months old and a ball of energy, and now I have an 8 wk old chihuahua pup boy who is every bit thinking he's a yorkie and the Yorkies love him to death. Happy household all the way around. |

LOL...his approval was obvious....too cute! Ruby was brought out to me, and I thought she was the tiniest, most pitiful looking little girl (puppymill girl), but she stole my heart. Dh to this day laughs at his first thought upon seeing her...."And, I paid $700 for this"?!?!....he wouldn't take a million dollars for her now though, she's his "tiny-sweet". With Reno, we drove 4 hours to the burbs of Kansas City. As soon as I saw Reno, I fell to my knees laughing with joy. I know that I'm biased but to this day I think Reno was the cutest yorkie puppy I've ever seen....a little black/tan fluff ball with sweet inquisitive eyes. He rode all the way home on my lap and to this day doesn't leave my side.....dh calls him a mommy's boy. Tomorrow is another big day for us....our little Razz is finally going to be here! So, I'll have another post in this thread.....I can't wait!!!!

| First time I saw Mango's picture/ information was in the thread on here for his 'adoption advertisement'. I knew he was going to be the special one! The first time I met Mango (at the breeders home), i walked up....and there were probably 5 other Yorkies with him. I knew EXACTLY which one was Mango, I could tell by his face and eyes. Then after a few min, I picked him up, and knew he was perfect |

| Rosie was given to me by my sister in law for Christmas. I was not sure at first but let me say it was a match made in heaven. I wouldn't give up my baby for anything now. She was a perfect fit for me. I think she is the best Christmas present I have ever received. |

| My friend's aunt was fostering Levi, so our first meeting was a chance encounter. She was dropping something off at my friend's house and had Levi with her and it was basically love at first sight. He was so friendly and excitable, and ran up to me right away and licked me on the face. When I found out he was adoptable, I knew it was meant to be!

| I didn't get Jackson from a reputable breeder but she had the pups at her house... it wasn't in the greatest area (Baltimore) so my dad wouldn't allow me to go alone and drove me there, lol. We both went in and she brought out 2 male puppies (only ones left) and both were kind of acting the same... I had Jackson's brother in my arms first and he seemed more scared than anything, so I picked up Jackson and held him for a few minutes and he seemed much more content in my arms! I dunno.. I guess I just felt that connection from the get-go and knew he was mine!

| When I went to meet Piper I had worked Saturday and Sunday nights 12 hours. Monday morning I slept an hour and a half. I got up, showered, dressed the kids, then drove an hour and twenty minutes to pick her up. I was nervous the entire time. I wasn't 100% I was doing the right thing by getting a puppy. I met her mama half way between our houses due to my work schedule and apparently she got car sick. She was covered in vomit. I forgot her carrier that morning but I had a cloth shopping bag in the car. SO, I put her little body in the bag with her head sticking out and held her in my lap for the drive home. I got her home and gave her a bath. I dried her off and my husband told me she looked like a drowned rat!! I brushed her out and she jumped down to investigate the kids. She was so happy and soft and fluffy after her bath! She curled up with me and fell asleep. I knew I was in love when I had to leave her for a few hours....I could think of nothing but Piper the entire time we were gone!
