I'm appalled this happened but extremely glad that Maddie is okay. Putting her down twice is extremely dangerous! I can't come to terms with the fact that they put her under twice in such a short amount of time! No vet does this. I would be just as upset. I would just show up first thing in the morning and have some serious words with the vet in person. Next time another pet by not be so lucky. Especially for someone's LACK OF SLEEP!!!

Hope Maddie recovers well.

Which makes me wonder if the vet even knew about her being put under a second time, or did the tech just take it upon herself?

not on at all,had this one done to one of my pets and wouldnt pay them,take pics as well,and if you have been going there 15 yrs they should have known this,hope your baby is ok

I am so sorry that Maddie had to go through all of this.
I am at a loss for words. I too would be absolutely livid :mad: and would be looking for a call from the vet!!!
Once again, I'm so sorry your little furbaby had to endure all of this.
I will pray for her speedy recovery and will keep you in my prayers as well.

Morning everyone---it was my vet that put her under a 2nd time--she felt she needed to clean her teeth since she didnt do it the first time maddie was under and was suppose to do it then. Maddie did great last night-sore as to be exspected with all that was done-we both got some sleep so that helps---no call from my vet last night--im sadley disappointed in her even more for not calling me. Havent decided yet how im going to handle this, but its far from over.

I just got through reading all the updates since last night. I am so thankful that Maddie is feeling a little better this morning. I cannot imagine for the life of me a vet putting a little one under anesthesia twice in one day like that.:mad: To do what they did to your baby is beyond unbelievable. Nothing they do to make it up to you would be enough. To know they messed up and opened her up by mistake and to then put her under again for a dental, there is no excuse for that.

I'm glad your little Maddy is recovering and doing well. You should have that vets licences and a nice lump of damage money given to you on a silver platter. Who puts an animal under twice!?!?

I'm glad the night went well... but I can't believe the vet still hasn't called!! I'm hoping the vet calls soon. Give Maddie hugs!

I am so sorry Maddie had to go thru all this. How awful. And then to lose the trust of your own vet. It was very risky putting your baby under anesthesia for a second time. Personally, i would drive to the vets and grab the records, you are entitled to them. Secondly, id contact a lawyer. I understand that mistakes are made everyday, but to not own up to them is like saying that they dont even care what happened.

Please keep us updated on Maddie's health.

What kind of vet is that? Excuses on her side, hiding and sending over her assistant and not having the decency to call you. She should have come with her assistant and explain. We are humans and mistakes can be made, however incredible it is, but then have the guts and take up the responsibility.
Is she still afraid you might be "a little hot"? I would be white-hot.
Am glad your baby is doing better though.

I am glad Maddie is doing well. It is unimaginable that these kind of things continue to happen. Lose of sleep or whatever excuse doesn't cut it. Misdiagnosis and botched surgeries aren't readily known by us. I speak from having a litter of GSD pups that would have survived if it weren't for the vet giving too much anaethesia...oh she had to go to attend a horse show and left the techs there holding the bag. It is still so heartbreaking to go back and think of that day. I had them for my vet for years....afterward there was a lawsuit from others and her practice is now closed down.

I have a new vet but am still wary because of this experience. Bentley needs his teeth cleaned and I am just frightened of anything going wrong.

I hope your vet has the fortitude and decency to call you and apologize at the very least. Give your little girl a hug from me and I pray she continues to get better.
