shes never been breed, and if you look closely you can see the scar from her spay a year ago--and yes a ultrasound would be the only other way. i guess my vet doesnt pay attention ( i do know she has alot of patients to rember everything) but i told her the day i got her and brought her in for a check up that she just had her stitches out that morning from the spay she had done buy another vet. |
WHAT??? Didn't they know what she was in for? They weren't authorized to do a spay. What if you were breeding her and they just arbitrarily spay her!!! This is an outrage. Did you have to pay for the surgery?? I can't believe that your poor baby had to go through this. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Poor little thing!! |

I understand that mistakes happen, vets are human too. But for that to have happened and no one has called you, I'd be livid too! you know how when you pick a breeder, you should pick one that stands behind their lines, whether they're perfect of have flaws? I think the same applies to vets. They should stand behind their work, regardless if things were smooth or they hit a rough patch. They so owe you a call. |
I am so sorry this has happened to your little furbaby. Tough both you and Maddie. Wishes for a quick recovery. Quote:
We are not sure if Moxy, our dd's Pommie, has been spayed. Our vet recommended that Meg find a vet in WV, once she gets settled in, to do a hormone test. Wonder if an ultrasound would be better or possibly cheaper? ~Joanne~ |
That is horrible! I would speak to the vet about your frustrations asap! You should not have to pay for any of the surgery  Poor girl :( |
Oh Misti.....I am so sorry our little Maddie had to go through that!!:( Tell her that her first ever S.B. Sugar Baby is thinking about her :( What a shocker!! Poor baby! |
Thankyou again for all the kind words everyone;) maddie still resting and ill be going home in a hour and shell be able to get under her blankies---I still have not heard from my vet, and now the answering service is picking up--she has my cell # though and she better call me tonight--if not a call will be made in the morning. I have not paid for anything and wont. The intern said i wouldnt be billed, but that still doesnt make me feel better about what has happened. |

Thankyou and i will tell her;) |
I'm sorry this happened! I left my former vet after I could no longer feel comfortable with my communications with his staff. We always said NO LEPTO vaccine and every time I walked in with a dog, there was a lepto syrine ready to go. I think if this happened to me, I'd file a complaint with the state licensing board. |
im waitng for her to get ahold of me--not talking to me would NOT be in her best interest!!! |
OMG, this is terrible. I am so sorry Maddie has gone thru this he$$. |
HOLY %@%@ ! They tried to spay her AFTER she's already been spayed ? Was that vet on DRUGS ? You have a lawsuit in the making and while I've never in my life sued anyone nor had a reason - I'd be livid - this is a huge mistake ! That poor girl - are you sure she's ok at home ? Do you think she needs to be at an ER vet where they can control her pain and monitor her ? I wish I had better advise but all the shaking would be scaring me and the bleeding too - My heart goes out to you - I've never heard of this happening before and while vets are human too - WE TRUST THEM TO READ FILES AND KNOW EXACTLY WHAT PROCEDURE A PET IS IN THERE FOR ! why the heck didn't the at least call you to ASK you her history before performing unnecessary painful surgery ? I'm so sorry - I'd really keep an eye on her and make some calls - she may have underlying issues at this time and you don't want to chance losing her !! |
I'm almost speechless, I can't believe this happened to your baby! How did your vet not see that she had been spayed, how many surgeries were they doing today that they could mess up what she was in there for??? I think it's beyond horrible the vet hasn't even called you yet to apologize & you have been seeing this person for 15 years! There is no excuse for this, but how do you not call and apologize! I would never set foot in that office again, which is really sad since this has been a long term vet for you, but geez! I'm soo sorry this happened, really sad! I hope she's ok & feels better soon! |
I'm sorry your poor baby had to go through this. We all make mistakes, but not calling personally to tell you of the mistake is inexcusable. The vet needs to stand up and take responsibility for the actions of the staff. I hope your baby heals quickly. This is just hard to comprehend, I'm just shocked, that a so called animal lover, which you would think someone who got into veterinary medicine would be, would not at least be checking on your baby after their mistake. |
