I agree with Ellie May, I'd get her to another vet pronto |

my friend gives her 5lb yorkie a quarter of a childrens aspirin for her patella/leg pain. The vet said this is fine and it works with no ill effects. I don't know how that would affect your baby, but it's jsut a suggestion |
wow... still no word from the vet? this is ridiculous....absolutely ridiculous. she should have called you last night, or at the very least first thing this morning. I would definitely file a report against her. also you can go to rate a vet website and leave a review for others to see. |
i have pain meds for her from b4, however i called a different vet about 30mins ago just to see if she could double check that she was ok, after exsplaining what happend--- i just got back to work and maddie is fine other than being very, very sore from all that she went thru---i knew she was kinda where she needed to be at this point in the game since ive raised, breed and trained dogs(labs) for 20 years---but thought id have her double checked, after all she is my baby---the other vet didnt charge me to see maddie, he was super nice!!!!!! still no meds from my original vet or a call yet--but again should be anytime (maybe?) since they are now just closing-- i do have meds from the new vet that seen her. |

Misty, I hate to tell you this, but you probably wont hear from her. Ten to one she has been in touch with her lawyer and has been told not to talk to you. Either that or she is a coward. |
I would not be waiting for her to call. There is nothing she could say to make this alright. I would be however, on the phone with my lawyer!! She needs her license taken away. How dare her!!! I wonder of there was another baby in there for a spay and got her teeth cleaned .... IDIOT!!! Sending great big get well hugs for your baby. |
This is just too sick for words!!!! I would definitely contact a lawyer... This woman needs to NEVER operate on another animal - EVER. I am SO sorry for Maddie's pain, and yours!!!! I think she likely has talked to her lawyer and will not be calling you. Part of me wants to say go to the office and force her to talk, but if I were you I'd rip her to shreds and end up in jail. I'd contact a lawyer and see what you can do to stop her from continuing to practice. Somehow, I don't think you'll be the last person this happens to if she continues to practice. Big hugs to you and little Maddie.. she'll be back on her feet in no time... in the mean time, do what you can to keep this from happening to someone else. Make this woman know that those kinds of mistakes have consequences, and she can't hide from them (or you!) forever!!!! |
Just seeing this...how awful. I am so sorry for Maddie and for you. I hope she is doing better this evening. I agree with everyone else. I would contact an attorney....even if the only thing you can get is reimbursement. I would also report her to the veterinary board in your state. Mistakes happen, but this is just awful AND the fact that she did not even have the decency to call you is just unbelievable. Sounds like the other vet was really a great guy...and he obviously felt terrible that something of this nature should happen. |
I would make it known very quickly that the pain they've caused your poor maddie is going to be on their dime. For what they've done, seriously, you shouldn't have to pay anything. Maybe for anything they actually did correctly, but ANYTHING done incorrectly, or that shouldn't have had to be done shouldn't be your responsibility. |
