| Does your Yorkie baby sleep with you? Most books I've read said never to let the dog sleep in your bed as it's the alpha dog that gets the best place to sleep and it will make him think he is the leader. But many yorkie owners have mentioned letting their babies sleep with them. What is your opinion on letting your baby sleep with you? Has it made him/her more possessive/protective of you? |

| Both our dogs sleep with us. Toby has to curl up right in between hubby and me and Speedy usually sleeps at the bottom of the bed. Sometimes she will even sleep on the floor. But once Toby is all snuggled in, there's no moving him! As for the alpha dog part, Toby has tried to be the alpha dog ever since he came to us in December. But Speedy was here first so she's put him in his place a time or two. I think it's personal preference (and how big your bed is and how many furbutts you have!)

| I have 4 Furbabies Cassie, Samantha, Tabatha, and Quigley. They all sleep with me and have a favorite spot. Cassie up against my legs, Samantha along my back, Tabatha curled up next to my stomach, and Quigley at my feet. Good thing I sleep alone and a king size bed. No room for anyone else....LOL

| Both of mine sleep with me, and I am the one that gets the best spot! LOL. I have never heard that alpha dog theory. Both of mine get up and move around and trade places throughout the night, but usually end up next to eachother. Now, when we add hubby to the mix, then there are problems but that's because there just isn't enough room for him. LOL. (Hubby works alternating shifts so my remark is not meat to be taken out of disrespect to him, we love him and make room for him too, LOL.)

| When hubby is home kobe usually falls asleep on the bed but then we move him to his bed on the floor next to my head. But when hubby is out of town... like now, he sleeps in the bed with me but will still sometimes wants to go to his bed if I'm moving too much. LOL

| I am glad to know it's working for all of you. I have tried going by the book and articles I read but then it makes me wonder why in the world would I want a dog if I can't love on it and share my life with it. I've had poodles most of my life and never read books and they slept with me and it was wonderful. But somehow Yorkies intimidated me (small size I guess) and I wanted to do it "right". Now I can't wait for her to be trained so we can sleep together. Plus I have a king sized bed and she's just a few lbs so there's plenty room. LOL |

| My 3 do not sleep with me. Not that I'm against it, but I move a LOT in my sleep and I'm afraid I'll hurt them. Also I hate to be touched (even by my hubby Lol) when I am trying to sleep and they all like to be right on me.

| Kimbo started sleeping with us when he was about 5 months old. He sleeps under the comforter and he's all over me. Lately he's been trying to squeeze inbetween my knees to sleep! Yikes.

| Callie normally doesn't sleep in my bed with me unless she is sick/ doesn't feel good or if we are out of town at a hotel or relatives house. When she was a puppy she would stay in a crate at night and then when she was potty trained we moved the crate and got a big comfy dog bed, but I cant sleep unless my room is pretty cool and I have a ceiling fan and keeping her covered wasn't really working so i bought a soft sided dog house and she loves it! Although the last few days she will not stay in her bed she curls up on the foot of my bed and I fear kicking her or rolling onto her or even knocking her off the bed so I sleep very little when she is on the bed due to fear of her getting hurt.

| Bentley doesnt sleep with my hubby and I because we only have a queen size bed and we both toss and turn ALOT! haha. I am afraid i will roll over on him or something, that kind of stuff scares me. also, bentley rolls around in the grass and dirt all day and i definitly dont need that in my sheets. the idea of being the pack leader and not allowing him in your bed seems true. With bentley i make sure i go through door ways first and dont give him things when he begs, the more they learn and know that you are a pack leader the more they will respect and care for you. (I have done a ton of research and read a lot of books, as well as tried it on my baby boy bentley) |

| I can't imagne my guys not sleeping with us!! Livi even likes to sleep under the blankets, against my husband's chest. We used to have nice bedding but it has since been destroyed (they like to dig in the comforter). I don't mind, I suppose....I wouldn't give up having them with us. LOVE IT! |

| Wobie has slept in my bed since the first night I brought him home. I can't imagine it any other way.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Jenna sleeps with us all the time. My husband will not let her sleep anywhere else. He is crazy about her. No matter where he is she is right with him. She is far from the alpha female. Then if I have one expecting she will sleep with us too.

| Roxie sleeps in her ex-pen in the living room. DBF does not want her in our bed. She also doesn't like to come upstairs (where the bedrooms are), so it's really a moot point. I agree though, that with all the rolling around in the grass and whatnot that she does outside, I am happy to have her sleep in her bed and keep my sheets clean :-)
