When my daughter was a couple of months old, her father and I split up and I moved back home with mom and her husband. Our bedroom had been part of the attic that was enclosed. The floors creaked really bad. Anyway, one Saturday, I was doing laundry down stairs. Only my daughter and I were home. She was taking a nap...I guess she was around 1 1/2 years old. While I'm loading the washer, I hear footsteps upstairs...floors creaking. I figured she was up so I went up there to check on her and she was still asleep. Another time, I had gotten home from beauty school and went to the kitchen to start the dishes. In the living room was a piano...I have this piano in my home now...and someone was pounding on the piano keys. I yelled, "COURTNEY, STOP THAT!" I was not in the best of moods. It stopped for a few seconds and started again. I turned off the water and dried my hands. I was going to pop her hiney for disobeying me. Walked into the living room and no one was in there. Went to the den and Courtney was in there with my step-dad watching t.v. Asked him if she'd been in there the whole time and he said yes. I asked him who was messing with the piano and he said, "I thought you were." My stepdad's 1st wife had passed away due to cancer. While she was living, he and his wife took in their son's best friend, wife and child for a short while. They stayed upstairs. One morning, the baby had passed away. :( SIDS had taken it's life. Well, stepdad's wife ran upstairs trying to resuscitate the baby to no evail. Speaking to a stepbrother one day we started talking about all of this and he said that he's seen the ghost...it was his mother running upstairs to try to save the baby. Now was she the one that kept checking on my daughter? Stepdad use to tell me that he felt spirits all the time in the home. He could feel them walk right up behind him. |

When I first moved into my house I had an experience with a presence. It was the first night here, and I had made a bed on the floor for my then 8 mo old daughter, because we hadn't set up her crib. Well she began to cry and I went into her room and laid next to her on the floor. I had closed the door behind me. All of a sudden the door opened very slowly, I thought it was my hubby looking for me...but there was nobody there. I definitely could sense someone...the impression I got was that it was confused, and was wondering who we were. I spoke to it, and told it that we lived here now. It has since moved on. :) |
Like I was pm-ing Megan, since I've had my house "cleansed", I feel VERY safe in it. I don't hear anything or see anything. Now, here's a couple more then I'm all storied out! 1) Shortly after we moved her to Victoria, my husband and I got a rent house. Nothing really major happened except...husband was working nights...waking up to someone running full speed across the roof of my house. Not scurrying like some animal, but large legged running back and forth several times and then it stopped. Then, on another night, I wake up to someone pounding on my front window...not the door but the window. I go to the living room and hear the knocking again but there were no shadows. Now that scared me because the knocking was there and I should have seen a shadow of someone because we had one of those big street lights in our drive way. 2) Neighbor across the street from where I live now. While they were moving out of the house a few months back, I went over there to visit. She proceeds to tell me...her hubby worked off shore...her baby woke up one night screeching at the top of her lungs. Mom got up with baby and took baby to the living room and was watching cartoons. Mom laying on couch, baby laying on mom's chest. Mom hears the front door open and close and someone walking upstairs...she's thinking okay, I'm hearing things...baby sits up and watches something walk upstairs to the game room. Mom said she looked and didn't see anything. I think I'm all storied out now. |
Here's another...this happened to my mom, grandma, and aunt. After my grandfather died my grandma sold her property, and took a house in a new housing development. Well this is the 60's mind ya, and the lady across the street was a single mom with three kids. Pretty rare in Puerto Rico at the time. Anyhow she told my mom, grandma, and aunt that she was going out on a date if she could keep an eye out for the kids, oldest was 15. Well they were watching TV, whe they hear this blood curdling scream....like a woman being killed. isntantly they think of the kids across the way and run outside. Well the whole neighborhood is up and out, and it turned out that the neighbor had come home early. Well when my grandma mentioned the scream, one of the residents that had been living there for a while mentioned that this happened all the time. they would hear these horrible screams in the dead of night once ot twice a night, a couple of times a year! The reason they beleived was that it was the ghosts of women that had been raped and murdered in the area. It was a swamp before the developers filled it in and built houses. During construction they had found shallow graves with the bodies of women. How eerie is that?! |
